Character Information
General
Canon Source: Cardcaptor Sakura
Canon Format: Manga
Character's Name: Sakura Kinomoto
Character's Age: 13
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played. Sakura is 13 years old, but that does not mean she’s not capable of taking care of herself in Siren's Port. She knows how to cook, and her daily chores are very extensive, even for a kid her age. The monsters would be a bit of trouble for her, but Sakura had faced a zombie in the game I am taking her from, so she won't be too bad when she faces the darkness.
What form will your character's NV take? I would like for Sakura's NV to take the form of the phone from the previous game I am taking her from. It has capabilities of taking pictures, text messaging, video, and works as a regular phone. It’s described as a mixture of a palm pilot and a cell phone.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
Sakura has an extensive list of abilities. Some of them have their little quirks, and most of them she has no problem with. Her dreams are one of Sakura's less advanced powers. They are prophetic, but normally very confusing to her. All of Sakura's dreams of that type have the same dark haze, which makes it very hard for her to distinguish people or places. These dreams are often repetitive, leading up to a big challenge for her.
Another ability Sakura has is sensing magical signatures. Even though has not really been experimented with, as the only kind of magic Sakura has sensed is Clow Reed’s magical remnants inside Eriol and inside the cards. Eriol, who had used his magic to help Sakura turn the Clow Cards into her own, was almost discovered a couple of times because she could sense him. Sensing the cards gave her an advantage when trying to capture them, but only slightly as she could only sense them when they were about to cause trouble.
Sakura hasn't really realized it yet, but she can sometimes also tell who is magical. When she interacts with those people, she feels almost attracted to them. A few examples of this are when Sakura is around Tsukishiro, or her teacher Kaho Mizuki. She can feel their magical aura, making her feel intoxicated with happiness when she is around them. This is a feeling she often confuses with love, and this is partially why she fell in love with Tsukishiro.
Sakura’s most powerful abilities come from the cards she has. Since I will be taking Sakura from the manga, she will only have the 19 cards, rather than the 52 the anime had. Her cards, in order of how much she will use them are
The Fly,
The Jump,
The Shield,
The Wood,
The Thunder ,
The Sword,
The Illusion,
The Maze,
The Erase,
The Mirror,
The Glow,
The Flower,
The Light, and
The Dark. Sakura also has four elemental which are
Windy, Earthy,
Watery, and
Firey. These cards are the strongest cards out of all the cards, but she only uses the Windy, and Watery element cards often because the other cards are far too destructive for Sakura.
Sakura's magical abilities are not only drawn from the sun and the moon, but also her own star power. This power is not quite developed just yet, as Sakura is still quite young, and she limits using her magic in her daily life. Because Sakura draws her magic from the sun, moon and stars, her staff, cards and incantation circle have symbols representing these sources.
When ever Sakura does magic, her
incantation circle appears beneath her. A lot of characteristics are inside the circle. The sun on the left, the moon on the right, a large star in the middle represents where her magic comes from. Then, all the characters of the Chinese zodiac make an inner circle around the center star. Last is the symbols for the four elements on the north, south, east and west sides of the circle.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? N/A
Weapons:
Sakura's weapons include her cards which have her incantation circle on the back, and their characterizations are on the front. The cards are detailed in pink hues with the exception of the stars, which are gold yellow in color.
The second weapon of Sakura's is her star wand. This wand takes the form of a key when dormant, and Sakura keeps it on a chain around her neck till she uses it. To release her wand, she recites an incantation to the key, using magic to extend the key into the wand. The wand grows to be approximately 2.5 feet in length, and sitting on the top of that is a large ring which has a golden star in the middle, and little white wings on each side of the ring. The star rotates, and the wings expand when Sakura calls upon the cards.
The only difficult part about Sakura's powers is that in the previous game, she was only permitted one power, and no items. Would it be all right if Sakura could find the cards, her key, and have her powers back when she enters Siren's Port?
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardcaptor_Sakura#Plot Because Sakura is the main character in Cardcaptor Sakura, a general plot wikipedia link will explain most of Sakura’s past. One thing that needs further clarification is Sakura’s age because the wikipedia link I gave said that she is 10. She was that age at the beginning of the manga, but through out the course of the manga, her birthday comes and goes twice.
Although it is not celebrated, it is known that her birthday is on April 1st. After Sakura is officially the chosen the Master of the cards, there is a small time jump to when she is preparing to attend school at the end of summer break. Now she's 11 years old and ready to face Eriol. Right before she finishes transforming all the cards, she is busy preparing chocolates for White Day, which is usually celebrated on March 14th. Sakura would've had a birthday less then a month after that.
Point in Canon: The point where I am taking Sakura from is about a year and 3 months after she finished transforming the cards. This is not actually seen in the manga, because it's less then half way through the time skip to the epilogue. But, seeing as how only a year has passed since then, she'll be the same person she was before, just a little less naive, and a bit more intelligent.
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history:
Sakura was trapped inside a dark, spooky house that came with a bunch of mysterious occurrences. Some of them changed her a little, and some of them were really fun. She made friends with a few of the characters, and never really quarreled with anyone, with the exception of a boy named Alois Trancy who seemed to really dislike her, but she didn’t let him get to her, continuing to be nice to him despite his desire to make her upset.
There was a zombie event where she hurt Hayato Gokudera, who had helped Sakura feel better about staying in a haunted looking house, and she felt thankful for that. Unfortunately, Gokudera was turned into a zombie, and Sakura assisted in dealing a lot of harm towards him when he attacked her and her housemates. More on how she thinks of zombies, or creatures like them will be addressed below.
Other then that event, all that happened are normal things. All they did was try to live life normaly, and try to find a way out of the house. Sakura was only in the house for just over a month in game, so the story didn't develop, and the game ended up halting right in the middle of the zombie event, so nothing was really explained.
Character Personality:
Although she's not the type of person to project her feelings with her voice, she is really animated in her facial expressions. With her raised eyebrows, wide shocked mouth or her small mousey stare, you can really tell how she is feeling, and it's not a guessing game. Sakura has these moments only around the people she knows. Around strangers, she is very polite and charismatic.
If that person seems to dislike Sakura, it doesn't make her upset, and she still likes to help them out if they need it. Although she might try to compete with them, depending on how much they get on her nerves as well, but she would never fight against that person, even if they were asking for it.
Her enthusiasm for life and living it happily has never stopped. Even when faced with difficult tasks, she still keeps her chin up by telling herself that everything will surely be all right. She is a very optimistic person in this aspect, being driven to accomplish something good for everyone, resolving conflicts and other issues, all she wants to do is look on the brighter side of life. Even if sometimes it takes a little bit of a reminder to do so.
She is very perceptive of those people around her. She knows that when someone might be hurt and they might need a shoulder to lean on, but she’s not quite as perceptive towards herself. It took her friends and family to guide her on the right path to finally respond to Syaoran’s confession that he loved her.
Facing very dangerous tasks would make anyone afraid, but Sakura is a very confident and courageous person, even if it might take her a few tries to come up with the solution. This does not make her feel inadequate or incapable; it just drives her to try harder. However, this courage is not there when she is met with one of her greatest fears: ghostly beings.
Ghosts are what Sakura fears the most. Her older brother would always tell her of the things that he saw, and this made Sakura very frightened of them. Even long after Sakura’s brother had stopped telling her of the spirits he saw, she could still sense them around her, and even when she doesn’t sense something, she is frightened by something that could be scary. It’s not something that’s easy to get rid of either, as the only time she’s been able to concur her fears is when she finds out that it is not the cause of something paranormal.
Sakura can be quite naïve and really gullible. She often believes everything people tell her even if it is a lie. She could be skeptical about the story, but she will still believe it until someone tells her otherwise because she is a bit too polite to argue against their theories. One of her classmates is constantly spouting false information about things, and she did somewhat learn how to tell when he was telling the lies, but only when the lies got too outlandish.
Very diligent and independent she is able to do multitudes of chores, she doesn’t hate any of them, and this includes the chores she is assigned in school. Her mother died a long time ago, and her brother and father taught Sakura how to pick up the slack around the house. They alternate chores and Sakura often cooks dinner for her family. However, she's only diligent when it comes to doing chores. When it comes to after school work, she can sometimes get caught up in other things, leaving her homework last minute.
Being a very energetic girl, she is usually in a lot of sports in school. This includes track, and cheer-leading. This does not mean she is very coordinated as sometimes she’ll trip over her feet, or accidentally hit herself on her head with her baton. Despite the disadvantage of being a clumsy person, she does really well in sports, trying her best and just having fun.
Sakura is a very kindhearted person. She would never intentionally hurt anyone, even if she has to. She had to face Yue to become the master of the cards, but she could not bring herself to hurt him. She’s only ever used her magic to harm other magical entities, like capturing clow cards or other magical forces that have put her in danger.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game:
Sakura was not in Betrayed for very long. Because of this, she did not really receive any development other then feeling upset after the zombie event and that she has become a little more wise about how to approach a monster. If she had first seen them in this game's setting, she would think they were ghosts, and she’d have a very difficult time keeping her composure. However, she isn't totally over her fear of ghosts. Sakura would still be very frightened, and react the same ways, but at least she'd be able to keep the monsters away.
Character Plans:
My plans for Sakura are to have her attend school, get a job in a restaurant, and maybe help out as much as she can. I'd want her to be able to face the monsters without hesitation, but that would probably take a very long time. Her fears are no over-night fix.
Other then that, I think I'd like Sakura to make lots of new friends, and find some friends she had in Betrayed, even if she forgot about them.

[ Sakura appears on a video feed, with a mixture of emotions on her face. ]
I’m not sure if this will reach all of you inside the house, but I’ve found the way out!
[ She pauses, thinking about how the house had disappeared, and whether or not she should tell them about it. ]
But there’s a bit of a problem… I’m sure you can come here too through the front door.
[ Another short pause, and she looks apologetic. ]
I’d come to get you all, but the house… is gone.
[ She sighs, and reminds herself to keep her chin up. ]
I just turned around, and it wasn’t there anymore.
I hope to see you all soon! Don't forget to try the front door. Okay?
Third Person Sample
Sakura knew that there was no way out, but still, she wanted to be at home where all of her friends and family were. As nice as this place was, she needed her family to be here to help her through this. It seemed like her nightmares had came to life in this house, and it was terrifying. If she could get back to the door, maybe it'll open for her, and she would wake up from this nightmare.
She excused herself from the kitchen before Hope could get back. He probably would have been concerned, but this time she wanted to be alone. She carefully descended down towards the door, keeping an eye out for any more zombies. When she reached the door, she stood there for a moment, wondering why she was here... she knew the door would always be locked, but she could not help but to try it again.
The surprise came when she had grasped the door handle, twisted, and the door actually complied to her actions. Wishing hard enough seemed to pay off, and as she pushed the door open, she let out a breath in awe.
"Hoeee!" The world she saw definitely was not Tomoeda, she knew that for sure, but even then, she was still happy. She was sure that the place outside was probably just as dangerous as inside the house, but her feet slowly led her into this new world, as it seemed to pull her in.
After a few steps, an illness set in she had never felt before. She noticed she was walking slower now, as if she felt like every part of her body was aching. A faint ringing in her ears was heard as well, that just seemed to grow louder with every step she took. What was wrong with her? Did she catch the same sickness as Gokudera? Was she going to turn into a zombie like him? Was he the one who got sick, or was it someone else?
As these thoughts popped into her head, the world around her started to spin. It panicked Sakura that she didn't seem to remember Gokudera at all now. He was just a blur inside her mind. There was another white-haired kid too. What was his name again? Was he the one who turned into a zombie?
She shook her head in an attempt to fix her memories, but it was useless. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't remember the people inside the house, and it made her really upset. Sakura knew that she had made really close friends with a few people, and it broke her heart thinking that she might not see them again.
