Any one have recommendations for authors of readable, reasonably smutty romance novels - preferably something I can find used so I can get a whole stack of them ( Read more... )

I always prefer to supply the theme and let another author provide the... ahh... tactical details, in writing smut. Of course, I also enjoy the ego boost of getting the tactical details correct for others, too.

Try the Blaze line of Harliquin romances - you should be able to pick up a bunch at any given used bookstores. They're the smuttiest of that publisher.

I'll have to look out for those. It looks like I have a line on a donation from another acquaintance who had a stack ready to go back to thrift stores from whence they came, so hopefully that will provide some good fuel, but if not, there will be a shopping trip.

There are the Lauren Willig ones, semi-historical. I don't know about smut-factor; for what I thought were pure-history books they've got some anachronistically explicit scenes, but I have no way to judge them in relation to other romance novels (because I haven't touched one since I was 15).

I mean, I guess there's always Anita Blake, if you want smutty, right? Just give up before you get to Micah.

thanks! I think I'll skip the Anita Blake, since I don't know if my co-worker goes for supernatural, but semi-historical should be good. =)
