O.K., there are drawbacks to living with a technowonk, but on the other hand, you can get her to fix stuff for you. For instance, I can'tget FlashPlayer to work for me, thus shutting me out of youtube, etc. Could you send her over to work some magic for me? FanSee

Yeah, I'll send her right over! (*scrunches up nose and eyes and concentrates REALLY hard*)
I hate having problems with computer stuff, so yes, there are advantages. However, I sure do wish she'd set up her little operation UP IN HER OWN ROOM instead of in the middle of the living room. And we had just gotten it cleaned up! (*whines*)
You're so lucky your partner's a geek. I'm the designated geek in my house, and they're about to take away my membership card. :( I had to reconfigure my home network for the second time in as many weekends, and it just about did me in.
Love the decorating scheme!

PS - You made an icon out of the flower pic. Cool. I actually had to get a dime out to really get a sense of how small the flower is. Wow. How did you even see it?
Hey Ellen. Ooh, poor you! I cannot even imagine having to do that myself--so yes, I count my blessings that Miss D. is talented in this area.
Glad you like the icon. Some of the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen are tiny like this. You kinda develop a search image for the little guys--they're called "belly-plants" by the field biologists. What looks like specks of lint or something always warrants a closer look. I used to be a botanist and did a lot of fieldwork. At the time I had a SLR camera with a macro lens, and could get REALLY close photos. When I find the gadget that converts 35mm slides to scans, which Miss D. swears we have, I'll post some of my desert-plant shots from years back.
Cool that you were a botanist. My dad was one, too - many years ago. I see that you said you are in St. Louis. He used to teach at Park College in Parkville, MO - somewhere near Kansas City, I guess - back in the mid-60's. /random
I'll look forward to seeing more plant pictures when you find the necessary equipment!

And I especially LOVE all those cords and wires in the living room. Very chic, n'est-ce pas?
