Kyungsoo gets a tattoo.
The buzz of the machine is loud and Kyungsoo squeezes his eyes shut, nails digging into his palms and jaw clenched tightly until something warm presses against his cheek. The leather under him is sticking to his skin and he’s uncomfortable, a wave of dysphoria crashing into him like the sea, but he is instantly lulled into tranquility when familiar callous fingertips brush over him.
“You have to relax, baby,” a smooth voice washes over him, and finally Kyungsoo opens his eyes and unfurls his fists. The light hanging above him is blinding and he has to blink a few times to clear his vision When he focuses again, his boyfriend is standing beside him, a gentle look on his face.
“I’m just scared, okay,” Kyungsoo rasps, his voice jagged with fear. “This is my first tattoo.”
“It gets better after a while, I promise,” the man beside him comforts, but then the hand against his cheek is gone and Kyungsoo panics.
“W-What are you doing, Jongin?”
“I’m going to tattoo you now, Soo,” Jongin laughs, maneuvering around the long table to sit on his stool. “Someone has to do it.”
“But I want you to be up here, holding my hand,” Kyungsoo whines childishly. He knows he’s being immature, especially for someone that’s about to get something permanently drawn onto his body, but he can’t help it. Jongin has always comforted him, but now he’s going to be the one torturing him. “Why can’t Baekhyun-- or Sehun, even-- do it instead?”
“Because,” Jongin says distractedly, pressing the transfer paper harder into Kyungsoo’s skin. Then he runs a finger over Kyungsoo’s hip bone, beside the patch of flesh getting ready to be inked, and over to his unbuttoned jeans that fall loosely around his hips. “No one else is allowed to see or touch you like this. Only me.”
Kyungsoo rolls his eyes and swallows down the butterflies. He has been with Jongin for years now and he still manages to make his insides explode into sparks of affection and love.
“I’m going to start now, okay?” Jongin asks, glancing up with almond eyes that have Kyungsoo nodding his head in no time.
He hardly feels the pain of the needle pricking into his skin, too busy watching the way Jongin pulls his bottom lip into his mouth in concentration. He is too busy tracing the shape of Jongin’s nose, then down to the tattoos that cover his neck and arms to under his clothes where Kyungsoo knows he has them littered over his chest and back and sides, and even one on his ankle, to soak in the feeling of cat scratches over sunburn. He loses himself in the shine of Jongin’s earrings and the twinkle in his eyes. He only reemerges when Jongin wipes the last drops of blood away and looks up at him with a smile.
“I’m done,” he grins widely. Kyungsoo can’t help but smile back. Jongin holds out his hand to help Kyungsoo stand up, walking him over to the mirror that hangs on the back of the door. “What do you think?”
His tattoo is backwards in the mirror, but Kyungsoo can easily make out the To Infinity in perfect cursive written across his hip. The skin around it is red and swollen now, and he’ll have to take aspirin later for the pain setting in, but it was worth it. “It’s perfect,” he whispers, and it’s more to himself than anything.
Jongin hears it anyway, eyes crinkling as he grins and wraps his arms around Kyungsoo to pull him into a hug that steals the air from his lungs. “I’m glad you love it, baby,” he murmurs, lips pressed against Kyungsoo’s ears, and he hears the sigh of relief that falls off his tongue.
“It’s the best birthday present in the world,” Kyungsoo giggles before pulling back and fitting his mouth against his boyfriend’s. “I couldn’t ask for anything else.”
//
Kyungsoo’s lips are swollen from kisses, Jongin’s hands hot and heavy on his ass and he’s so achingly hard that he’s about to come in his pants. He pushes Jongin to the bed, crawling over him with a feral streak of light threading through his irises, and Jongin shudders.
He works his way down Jongin’s body slowly, pulling his shirt over his head first before kissing his way down his abs, paying special attention to the rose that blossoms on the side of his chest. It always makes Jongin’s breath hitch when his lips drag over it.
Jongin’s breaths speed up as he works his way down, lower and lower, and then he’s unbuttoning his jeans, tugging them down until he can kick them off his ankles. Kyungsoo goes back to kissing his body, leaving butterfly kisses over inked skin that he loves so much, moving to suck hickies into the taut skin of his hipbones, but he sees something that wasn’t there before and he pulls back quickly--
“Is that a new tattoo?” Kyungsoo pants out. It takes a second to focus on the words, arousal clouding his pupils, but when he does, he smiles so hard that he’s sure his cheeks are about to burst.
“Do you like it?” Jongin asks, a cocky smirk taking over his face. “I got myself a little birthday present too.”
Kyungsoo just bites his lip, settling himself more comfortably on Jongin’s legs and running his finger over his boyfriend’s tattoo. It matches his, and he can’t help but think that it’s a perfect representation of their love.
To Infinity
And Beyond
Jongin’s skin looks perfect with the black cursive letters, the skin around it already settled back to its natural tan, so he crawls up until he can kiss Jongin properly, with the right amount of love held between his lips. Jongin kisses back just as hard, cupping Kyungsoo’s jaw and holding him in place, keeping him as close as he can; as close as their hearts can get.
Because their love is beyond boundless, beyond eternal, beyond the limits of space and time; it is to infinity, and beyond.
