Thanks, man.

Also, your proposal method was nerdrageous and awesome. Congrats!

Have you seen Stardust? Or read it? Both are great, the movie takes some slightly different directions while remaining true to the themes of the book. Best fantasy-style movie I've ever seen.

In other Gaiman-related news, Coraline comes out in February and apparently it's stop-motion, which is cool. I'm kinda worried they've over-americanized it. The book was exceptionally subtle in it's creepiness, which seems to have given way to a more over-the-top presentation, which isn't all bad. What I am worried about from the clips I've seen is changes to Coraline's character. She was a very strong character in the book, but in a very subdued and quiet way. The movie seems to be trying to turn her into the typical American spunky girl hero.

I haven't read Stardust yet, but saw the movie which was really good. Michelle has the book, so I'll get around to reading it eventually, though I have a sort of love/hate relationship with Gaiman, partially due to how he's hyped.

I've heard a little bit about Coraline, and I want to see it, and probably read it afterwards, so I can attempt, at least, to judge the movie on its merits.

Last thing I read was Watchmen, which is pretty much as good as most people say, looking forward to the movie, because I'm pretty sure the majority of it will be recreating each panel in it.

Man, I wish they'd done that for 300. Could have been such a good movie if it hadn't been for the ridiculous political/sexual filler.

I still haven't seen 300 yet, but I heard it was pretty close to the graphic novel. If it really wasn't, than Watchmen will probably be as bad, since it's the same guy directing. I do know that they changed the ending (the bastard), but a lot of people have been saying that it might be the superhero movie equivalent of Watchmen (since Watchmen was something of a deconstruction on superhero comics, the movie will be a deconstruction of superhero movies), but since it's Zach Snyder directing, I doubt he's that... subtle.

The text-adventure went alright, it was more of a "wander to the right places in a certain order" adventure, since I was trying to get it done fast :P. It was about a person tracking a kidnapped knight, it was silly, and not terribly well written :P.

I think one reason I've been thinking about minority characters is that there's a blog I've found (Occasional Superheroine) who talks a lot about females (characters and people in general) and comics. I mean, I'm not trying to say that movie creators and such are racist, just... it gets frustrating I guess. Like, I seriously can't remember the last movie I saw with a main Asian character. The last movie I can think of off the top of my head is the Harold and Kumar movies, and Slumdog Millionaire takes place in India, so most of the characters are Indian, I assume...

Oh. Wait. I lied, last movie I watched with an Asian main character was Mongol, which... was about Genghis Khan...

Does Mongol really count though?
