The Google Summer of Code is basically Google paying students a stipend (not a huge amount, but not nothing either) to work on open source projects, basically projects that allow anyone to look at the code/modify it for their own use, etc. My proposal was just on doing a visualization on data for Sebek, a program that pretends its a real computer, so people mess with it, for people to analyze (errr, a computer honeypot, if you want to google it). My visualization stuff focuses on time steps, so visualizing data along time to analyze trends and stuff, and hopefully not as a graph. I hate graphs, they tell you nothing.
