I finished watching the first season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer last night, mainly deciding to watch it after reading the Onion's AV Club's writeups of it. And the quick review is that if I had watched it as it was coming out, I don't think I would have watched past the first season (or at all). Robin Hood is very, very goofy, and I like Big Bang Theory probably because I come from a pretty scientific background, which means I can get the physics jokes. Which I like, since they tend to do a physics joke that works as a normal joke as well (spherical chickens for example ( ... )

Ah, okay, I think I may know what episode you're talking about. I find Sheldon, the socially inept guy, pretty amusing, probably because I know that he's a bit of a more extreme version of me (and the other guy, Leonard, is pretty much a smarter, more socially incompetent me). It's a pretty good series, though I could see some of the humor being annoying.

Yeah I'm thinking that it's more surface geek that's pretty popular, but that might be me being cynical :P. I know that I get too obsessed with things to really care, though I realize that not everyone is interested in what I am (though I think I take it to the other extreme, and think no one's really interested).
