I had a professor once who had an idea he thought was revolutionary, that would essentially eliminate stoplights, basically when cars neared an intersection, a wireless system would take control of each vehicle timing it perfectly such that there would a constant flow of traffic, without the need for stoplights ( Read more... )

As long as it doesn't have a bloody wireless connection to it, then I think it's just pretty cool. Though, I personally doubt that these sorts of interfaces will become commonplace in the near future, since they don't add much to the current interfaces that we have, and overhauling that will take a very long time.

The gaming applications demonstrated in the video seem fairly significant. The only thing physically controlled by the player is the camera movement.

I'm just saying, if the sight of a blue-tooth ear-clip can become so commonplace, it's not much of a jump to see people using these in public settings. Yes, the infrastructure isn't there and won't be for some time, certainly not in this country, but there's definitely wide-spread applications for such an interface. I'm reminded of Minority Report, wide-spread customer-service oriented interfaces, menus you can order from by looking at them, who knows. And it could be really convenient!

Still a little unnerving.
