6.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Myanmar ... the article only states the distance to Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai itself is around 3 hours away by car. I am blanking on the precise distance, but whatever it was, we were actually able to feel things shuddering lightly under our feet in the office (6th floor) at shortly around 9PM. At first I thought it was ( Read more... )

Wow, 6.8 is quite a lot for a country that's not used to them. I hope everyone's fine and that you won't have any aftershocks. =)

Chiang Mai at least was fine, I only later found out about some of the damage in Chiang Rai and it took a bit for the actual death toll from Myanmar to come out :(

Right now we mainly have creepily cool weather though (18 DEGREES WHAT THE FUCK) and some quite serious flooding down south...

ah ah ah, I'm glad it arrived safe and sound. *___*
I am always slightly hesitant of packing boxes for you filled with tiny tid-bits since you basically have way more awesome stuff in BKK.

BUT! Miss Lisi is going to be in BKK in a couple of weeks, and she said she'd be glad to take as much salamis and other awesome stuff with her as her suitcase can take, and deliver it to wherever in BKK you want. so we might consider her a meat-mule or something.
YAAAAAAY!!!

also, the bear's name is Vojtek. Like, half of my polish family is named that way, now I will be laughing every time I see them. *___*

haha, aww shucks don't worry. I just have this new resolution that I wat to send away at least 1 letter each month to keep my arm muscles trained and to keep in touch with people. and I bet you have looooaaaaaaads of things to do, so don't feel bad about being busy (and everyone needs a break once in a time, so even if you do nothing you are still doing something. HOORAY!)

family vacations! yay! thus I shall pack up a nice bundle of thigns that might otherwise be too ~dangerous~ to be shipped via postal service. and I wish I could come as well, but my family enjoys Croatia more than exotic asia. DDDD:

YAYAYAY!

When exactly will she be coming?? Not that it ends up being a period of time when I am up in Chiang Mai... Or will they also hit up the north?

Looks like there is a death toll for this earthquake, too :( I'm glad you are okay tho, and that it didn't affect your area too badly. Stay safe, bb! And have fun in Bangkok ♥
