Summary: After moving so far away to avoid encountering his ex-boyfriend, Kyungsoo finds himself stuck in the elevator with him when a blackout shuts down the city.
Warnings: none.
AN: Personally, I never thought I’d be doing this when the year started. This is my first time writing in another language, and I feel super proud of myself for that /pats back/ I was really hesitant at first. Also, no less important, I’d like to dedicate this story to my beautiful beta ♥. You know how great you are. You taught me things that even my favorite literature teachers didn’t! I couldn’t have done this without you, and I’ll be forever thankful for that.

They never talked again after that.

“Why are you dragging this on and playing dumb, Jongin?” Kyungsoo threw his hand in the air, making people throw curious glances at them. “We’re not okay. I’ve gone through too many nights without sleep pondering over how to make this work, but you’re not making an effort.”

Jongin stayed silent, not knowing how to express himself.

“I can’t love you, Kyungsoo,” Jongin admitted.

Kyungsoo was speechless.

Jongin took Kyungsoo’s hand. “You deserve so much better,” he said, tilting Kyungsoo’s head up to meet his eyes.

”Save your breath.” Kyungsoo stepped back and left. He naively hoped Jongin would come and chase after him, but it never happened.

The end of their relationship left more of a bittersweet aftertaste than good memories. Kyungsoo felt hollow for months. He cried himself to sleep many nights wondering where he went wrong. Why would Jongin look at him with affectionate puppy eyes, cling to him, or kiss him so often, so eagerly, if he didn’t feel the same as Kyungsoo did?

They surely took several months to officially label their relationship, but that didn’t mean what they had wasn’t precious. It was everything a boy in his early 20s would want. It was passionate, tender, and intimate. Kim Jongin was everything Kyungsoo had always wanted in his life.

The pain and confusion subdued after Kyungsoo forced himself to repress his feelings. He made himself move on after realizing that overthinking what happened was taking a toll on him.

Memories of him and Jongin still appear in Kyungsoo’s mind from time to time, but months later, Kyungsoo is certainly not expecting Jongin to be at the lobby entrance of his own apartment building. Kyungsoo knows he could recognize the boy’s silhouette whenever he was: broad shoulders, sleek brown hair, and phone against his ear with a deep pout adorning his handsome features.

They haven’t met in quite some time, and the scenes from their shared time inevitably come rushing upon the first sight of Jongin. Kyungsoo clenches his fists as he eyes the man in front of him, nails digging into the palm of his hands as months’ worth of repressed feelings slowly take over him. He hates how Jongin’s presence still makes him feel so overwhelmed.

Maybe running and hiding would be a wise thing to do, completely avoid any sort of interaction with the man ahead of him. Kyungsoo would prefer not to show himself in front of his ex-boyfriend, but he feels curious. He wonders if he would be able to catch Jongin’s attention, earn himself a tiny bit of heed.

Kyungsoo walks closer to take a better look at the boy he missed, the one that comes to his mind when he tosses and turns in bed at night. Jongin looks exactly the same as several months ago: the same boyish hairstyle, the same soft glance, and the same hunched posture that makes him look handsome and dreamy. There he is, the Jongin that Kyungsoo fell in love with, and it takes all his might not to run into Jongin’s arms, to hide in his embrace, to get lost in those eyes, but he knows he couldn’t come up and have that happen.

Jongin’s gaze lingers on Kyungsoo, as if taking in the sight in front of him. Jongin mouth gapes one bit wider, and Kyungsoo loses count of how long they’ve stood still, looking at each other. It is as if the tall boy is trying to come up with something to say, but when Jongin least suspects it, Kyungsoo rushes inside the building - quick steps taking him further inside the lobby.

After a long elevator ride, after having taken the time to put his thoughts together, Kyungsoo finally lets himself relax at home. He plops onto the couch and goes through every possible scenario, wondering why Jongin would stand there in front of his building.

~~

It’s nearing 10pm when Kyungsoo passes through the entrance of the lobby a few days later, posture hunched from cold weather and exhaustion, the memory of meeting Jongin still vivid as he looks at the spot Jongin stood that night. As Kyungsoo waits for the elevator to come, he undoes the first button of his still crisp dress shirt, remnants of a long day at a formal gathering fading away as he gets closer to finally reaching home. The elevator dings. A little girl comes out followed by her pet when the ride finally reaches ground level, and Kyungsoo smiles at her politely when she passes by his side.

Kyungsoo shivers as he enters the elevator. It’s never been this cold in a few weeks. He stretches his arm forward and presses his floor button before resting his back against the wall of the lift.

When the doors almost close, a hand comes in to hold them open. A tall man stumbles clumsily into the elevator, carrying a crumpled paper bag, and at that sight, Kyungsoo sucks in a breath and purses his lips to a thin line. “Jongin?”

“Kyungsoo? Oh. Hi,” Jongin stutters with flushed cheeks. “I saw you the other day, but didn’t get to say hello. What are you doing here?” his breathing is labored after having chased his nearly-gone elevator ride.

“I live here.” Kyungsoo furrows his brows. “What are you doing here?” he asks as he scratches behind his ear, trying to hide his shaky hands.

“I… just moved in,” Jongin says pressing the button to his floor - two floors down below his, Kyungsoo notes. “I mean not today, but a few days ago.” he nods as the doors slide closed behind him.

“How great,” Kyungsoo feigns enthusiasm, not very comfortable with the breaking news.

It’s quiet after that.

Kyungsoo ventures a quick glance at Jongin, and Jongin squirms a little, an uneasy smile decorating his face.

“I hope you don’t mind… me moving here,” Jongin says, fiddling with his thumbs. “It was a last-minute thing. I had no idea you moved out from your parent’s house.”

“It’s fine,” Kyungsoo lies. “It’s not like you did it on purpose.”

The elevator finally reaches Jongin’s floor. It looks as if he’s about to attempt another conversation with Kyungsoo before getting out, but that’s when the ride stops with a harsh shake.

The lights flicker and everything turns pitch-black.

Kyungsoo hears a thud as Jongin utters a hushed curse.

“Kyungsoo, are you okay?” Jongin asks urgently. He stretches his arms in the dark, blindly searching for the shorter boy. Jongin finds Kyungsoo’s shoulders heaving up and down under the palm of his hands. His breath is ragged. “Kyungsoo?” Jongin asks again. “Kyungsoo, calm down.”

“Sorry,” Kyungsoo pants. “Sorry, I can’t,” he inhales deeply.

“It’s okay,” Jongin whispers closer. “Don’t let your claustrophobia take over. You’ll be fine,” he adds, rubbing soothing circles with his thumbs on Kyungsoo’s shoulders.

“W… what happened?” Kyungsoo asks in a shaky voice.

“I don’t know,” Jongin answers, a tone of uneasiness in his voice.

Jongin searches in his pockets and takes out his phone in a swift move, quickly turning the flashlight on.

“Ugh, Jongin,” Kyungsoo complains, shielding his eyes from the bright light with the palm of his hands.

“Whoops, sorry,” Jongin croons, directing the light towards the panel with the floor buttons. Jongin steps towards the button panel, and presses the emergency button for Kyungsoo. “You gotta be kidding me,” he protests, and Kyungsoo looks at him with wide eyes.

“It’s not working,” Jongin says incredulously, pushing the red emergency button repeatedly.

He goes to the doors and forces them open. The doors give away just a little, but it’s impossible for Jongin to be able to open them completely by himself.

“Is anyone there? Hello?” Jongin shouts through the crack of the doors, but there’s no use. They’re completely trapped.

He turns his phone around and looks at the screen. “I barely have reception,” Jongin huffs, furrowing his brows. “We’re uncommunicated!” he exclaims.

“Shut up, you’re making me anxious,” Kyungsoo groans, shutting his eyes. “Can you stop it with the flashlight?!” he snaps at Jongin. “Save some battery,” he grunts, falling slowly onto the floor.

“We’ll be alright,” Jongin says, a pensive expression taking over his features as he lights up the ceiling looking for something. “Can you hold this for a bit?” he asks, offering the device to Kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo takes the phone and directs the light towards Jongin who is climbing onto the metallic railing of the elevator, his coat forgotten on the floor, and the sleeves of his sweatshirt rolled up to the elbows.

“What are you doing?” Kyungsoo inquires, judging him.

Jongin doesn’t respond and just concentrates on opening a trapdoor on the ceiling. After a few pushes - and Jongin almost losing his balance - it opens, letting some chilly air enter the elevator.

“There,” Jongin hops off the railing and dusts off his hands. He takes the phone from Kyungsoo before sitting next to him, unrolling his sleeves. “I won’t say we should go all Mission Impossible and escape through that,” he lights up what’s above them, “but maybe a little fresh air will help you,” he says in a soft voice, smiling and then submerging them in the dark after turning the flashlight off.

“Thanks,” Kyungsoo mumbles embarrassed, arranging his posture so his shoulder doesn’t touch Jongin’s.

Jongin interrupts a hefty silence by clearing up his throat. “I think it’s a blackout,” he comments. “There’s no light coming from the cracks, and the fans on the walls outside are not working either, but we’ll get out somehow,” he reassures the other, squeezing Kyungsoo’s knee reassuringly.

Kyungsoo jerks away from his touch despite the warm feeling that lingers on the spot Jongin just touched. He shivers.

“Are you cold?” Jongin asks.

“No.”

“Let’s share my coat,” he states in a friendly way despite Kyungsoo’s protest.

Jongin huddles up closer to Kyungsoo and drapes the long coat over their knees. Kyungsoo won’t admit how thankful he is for Jongin’s offer, so he sighs, trying to find some comfort in the improvised cocoon.

“Tired?” Jongin asks, his voice a little hushed after hearing the steady breathing of the other boy.

Kyungsoo nods at first, but as he realizes Jongin can’t see him, he whispers out a raspy, “Yes.”

“Been busy lately?” Jongin dares to ask after Kyungsoo didn’t elaborate more about his day.

“Pretty much,” the other answers, rubbing his hands together trying to warm them up.

“You surely are very talkative today,” Jongin teases likes he’s used to do.

Kyungsoo scoffs, not even trying to hide the incredulous look on his face. “I don’t know why you’re trying to maintain a conversation with me like we’re old friends,” he bites, eyes trying hard to focus on Jongin despite not being able to see anything. “I think you made yourself clear back when we broke up.”

“Wow. Bitter much, Kyungsoo?” Jongin bites back. “I was just trying to be nice,” he adds, this time falling silent for good. Jongin has always had a soft heart that bruises quite easily.

Silence engulfs them as they drift to their own thoughts. The lift remains black as the night, and the only thing that can be heard is their calm breathing.

Considering of how he just treated Jongin, Kyungsoo can feel him taking back the coat for himself, as if heavy-heartedly accepting Kyungsoo’s rejection. Kyungsoo’s back to being cold and alone, thanks to his own outburst.

“I’m sorry,” Jongin startles Kyungsoo. “Didn’t know my presence here was unrequited,” he mutters, pouting.

Kyungsoo laughs at himself for how he handled the situation. He could definitely have acted more mature.

“It’s okay,” Kyungsoo represses a smile. “Maybe I’m too exhausted,” he hums as he flicks Jongin’s thigh. “Or hungry, who knows.”

Jongin chuckles, yet out of nowhere he utters a small, “oh,” and launches forward on his knees, groping for something on the floor.

“Still hungry?” Jongin says leaning back on the wall searching for Kyungsoo’s hand. “Here, have some.” The paper bag lands on Kyungsoo’s lap.

“What is th - Jongin…” Kyungsoo gapes as he draws a muffin out of the bag. “This is yours, I can’t - ”

“It’s okay. There is enough for both of us,” Jongin says, and Kyungsoo’s searching hand gingerly puts a muffin on the palm of Jongin’s hand.”

“Thank you - “ Kyungsoo starts, but Jongin shushes him by patting his arm, encouraging him to eat the treat.

Kyungsoo smiles. He feels so warm and fuzzy with how much Jongin is pampering him.

“Do you want another one?” Jongin asks minutes later, munching on his second muffin.

“I’m fine,” Kyungsoo answers with a soft voice, but Jongin rolls his eyes thinking the other boy is just being polite, so he takes another muffin and shoves it towards Kyungsoo, his arm clumsily elbowing Kyungsoo’s chest.

“Oh, sorry,” Jongin snickers dumbly as the other poor boy groans and punches Jongin on the shoulder.

Kyungsoo takes out his phone to check the time, trying to tune off Jongin’s loud chewing.

“Don’t vacuum your food down your throat, Jongin,” Kyungsoo says, giving Jongin a stern look. “We have plenty of these,” he adds, pointing the dim light of his phone screen towards Jongin’s face. “You’re such a mess,” he makes a tsk sound, dropping the phone to his lap. Kyungsoo leans closer to dust some crumbs off Jongin’s mouth - a casual gesture, if only they were still together. The tall boy stops. Kyungsoo doesn’t register how he’s caressing Jongin’s lips until he makes eye contact with him.

The atmosphere turns thick.

Kyungsoo’s breath hitches when Jongin kisses his thumb and slowly wraps his hand around his wrist, inching closer out of instinct. Kyungsoo is transfixed by Jongin’s gaze in the dim light when a warm breath hovers over his lips. The light brush of Jongin’s lips makes Kyungsoo’s eyes flutter closed, and their lips seal together in a soft, chaste kiss. Jongin’s lips are smooth against Kyungsoo’s, just as soft and beautiful as when they were still together, until suddenly, Jongin pulls away.

“I - I’m sorry. I wasn’t supposed to do that,” Jongin stammers.

“It’s okay, I’m the one who’s sorry.” Kyungsoo nods.

“Dont’ be,” Jongin squeezes Kyungsoo’s hand in reassurance, but takes it back before Kyungsoo can protest about it.

It’s awkward, as if both are trying to come up with some type of excuse to explain their actions.

In the silence, a phone dings off, startling both of them.

“Oh, my data is back,” Kyungsoo frowns, “but I can’t make calls. What about you?”

Jongin checks his phone. “Uhm… nothing yet.”

“Here it says that the power has gone back to some districts,” Kyungsoo reads aloud his news feed to Jongin.

He tries making a call to his mom, but unfortunately there’s no connection, so he opts to type a quick message to her and his close friends saying he’s okay, instead of telling them how he ended up getting stuck in an elevator with his ex-boyfriend. God knows how much they’ll tease him about it.

“Uh,” Kyungsoo clears his throat. “Is there anyone you need to notify about your existence?” he asks.

“Ha, you’re funny,” Jongin deadpans, “but my family is out of town,” he shrugs.

“Right…” Kyungsoo mutters, putting the device into his pocket and then hugging himself due to the cold weather.

“Here,” Jongin offers his coat back to Kyungsoo. “I’m sorry,” he says, making sure Kyungsoo has enough to cover himself.

“Thanks, Jongin,” Kyungsoo smiles, huddling slightly closer to Jongin’s side. “I can’t believe we’ve already spent more than 30 minutes here,” he sighs.

“Are you bored?” Jongin asks cleaning up some crumbs off his sweatshirt.

“I just hope the power comes back before we freeze to death,” he furrows his brows as Jongin directs the light towards him.

“It’s autumn, Kyungsoo,” Jongin states matter-of-factly. “It’s not that cold yet,” he smirks sneaking an arm around Kyungsoo’s shoulder. “I can keep you warm if you want to.”

“Don’t even think about it.” Kyungsoo sends Jongin a glare, and tries to shake himself off Jongin’s embrace with a not-so-convincing will.

“We won’t be here all night,” Jongin states plainly. “If we are, then we probably should go Mission Impossible and escape through that,” he mocks Kyungsoo, lighting up the trap door.

“Just picture me getting stuck in that hole,” Kyungsoo scoffs. “No, thanks,”

Jongin’s high-pitched laugh reverberates through the walls of the small elevator when Kyungsoo puffs his cheeks like an angry child. “What’s so funny? I don’t get it.”

Kyungsoo starts laughing. It’s contagious, he thinks, the way Jongin sounds like a child when he cackles, or the way he wiggles his legs without even knowing. Makes it hard not to smile.

Jongin’s chuckle slowly fades away as Kyungsoo’s gaze drifts to the screen of Jongin’s phone. Kyungsoo’s smile falters as soon as he could make out the small image on the screen.

Jongin’s home screen is a picture of a drawing that Kyungsoo can easily recognize: long traces outlining a sharp jaw, short traces depicting sleek hair falling over droopy eyes. It’s a caricaturized version of Jongin drawn by no other than Kyungsoo himself. He used to secretly scribble little messages and drawings on Jongin’s notebooks when they were bored in class back in university, or when they pretended to study together in the library.

“You still keep that?” Kyungsoo asks drawing his bottom lip between his teeth, round doe eyes filled with curiosity.

“Oh, yeah… I uhm,” Jongin cringes at first, but tries to act nonchalant. “It’s a really good drawing, you know,” Jongin looks down to the screen and shrugs.

“I thought you didn’t like it when I drew things on your notebooks,” Kyungsoo scratches behind his ear.

“I did!” Jongin frowns, making Kyungsoo arch an eyebrow. “I… found the notebook when I arrived home from my internship in Hong Kong,” he mutters, taking a tentative look towards Kyungsoo’s unreadable demeanor. “I couldn’t throw it away.”

“Why?” Kyungsoo asks, chest heaving up and down in expectation.

“It made me think of you,” Jongin answers straightforwardly, his bangs falling over his eyes. “I missed you all this time.”

“W..What did you say?” Kyungsoo asks, not sure of what he just heard.

“I realized how stupid I was to let you go, how immature I behaved towards you. Back in the day,” Jongin says with guilty eyes. “Running away from my insecurities.”

Kyungsoo stills, his wide eyes searching in the dim light.

“I’m sorry, Kyungsoo,” Jongin says abashedly. “I really am,” there’s a rustle as Jongin leans a little more into Kyungsoo. “It’s not that. I-I know it looked like…” Jongin hesitates at first. “I know it looked like I didn’t care about us, but - ”

“What’s been done can’t be undone, Jongin,” Kyungsoo mutters, dropping his gaze to his lap, puffs of Jongin’s breath meeting his ear.

Jongin stays quiet. He fills the quietness by holding one of Kyungsoo’s hands, fingers playing gingerly with his.

”Your hands are cold,” Jongin says in that pouty intonation that melts Kyungsoo’s inside. “Is it okay if I do this?” Jongin closes in towards Kyungsoo, warm breath fanning over Kyungsoo’s cheek as Kyungsoo faces him. “I want to see you up close,” he whispers, bumping their foreheads together gently.

Kyungsoo doesn’t shy away from the gesture.

“I need you to know that,” Jongin says anxiously as he puts Kyungsoo’s hand to his chest, “I know I hurt you badly, and I don’t think I’ll be able to forgive myself for that,” the boy continues, and Kyungsoo feels his heartstrings give.

Kyungsoo can feel Jongin’s racing heartbeat under his fingertips, and the sincerity in Jongin’s voice soothes him.

“I lied that day when I said I couldn’t love you,” Jongin confesses after taking a shaky breath. “I loved you like I’ve never loved another,” he continues, voice cracking a little at the end, “even though I realized that a little too late.”

Their noses bump softly. Jongin rubs his soft skin against Kyungsoo’s, his other hand sneaking up to cup the short boy’s jaw.

“And here you are being all your perfect little self. Quiet, nagging… caring even,” Jongin continues, staring at what little silhouette he could make out of Kyungsoo’s lips in the dim light. “How can even I pretend that I’m over you?” Jongin leans in nervously, breathing in Kyungsoo’s trembling sighs, before asking, ever so softly, “May I?”

Their lips meet in an open-mouthed kiss. Kyungsoo lets out a deep sigh, feeling Jongin in a way he’s been craving for a long time, and Jongin kisses him as if he knows the map of Kyungsoo’s lips like a second home.

“I miss you, Kyungsoo,” Jongin gasps into Kyungsoo’s mouth.

Kyungsoo crawls onto Jongin’s lap, pulling him by the collar, taking Jongin in without an inkling of doubt. “Don’t you hate how this plays out? Us being fated to get stranded together tonight?” He kisses him fervently, as if afraid that Jongin will disappear any second. “I don’t even believe in that destiny bullshit but here you are, finding your way back to me without even trying.”

Their tongues brush in a delicious way, and Kyungsoo can’t help the soft groan that leaves his mouth, especially when Jongin’s wandering hands slowly travel up and down his thigh.

It’s not sloppy, it’s not obscene. It’s just perfect.

Kyungsoo catches Jongin’s upper lip, feeling with his tongue the soft plush skin. Jongin moans quietly, and Kyungsoo can taste that feeling of when something precious finally comes back where it belongs.

They both express so much without words being said: longing, excitement, regret, comfort.

They mold as if they’re made for each other.

Kyungsoo wraps his arms around Jongin’s neck, licking and pecking the boy on the corner of his mouth, something Kyungsoo knows very well it makes Jongin weak in the knees.

They’re caught up in their own world. They’re immersed in a moment they’ve been waiting for in the late hours of lonely nights. Kissing and touching each other, they drown in desire, in the desperation of many months being without each other.

However, reality welcomes them back rather abruptly as the lights on the ceiling flicker back on, and the doors slide open, breaking the spell they were just under. They are at Jongin’s floor, panting, lips swollen and cheeks colored one shade too bright.

“Well. Oops,” Kyungsoo pants, smiling sheepishly.

Jongin doesn’t say anything. He just stares at Kyungsoo in a way that makes him squirm on the spot, as if recording every little detail of Kyungsoo’s face.

Jongin leans in once again. “Come to my place,” he whispers, lips brushing Kyungsoo’s ear.

Kyungsoo closes his eyes and refrains a hiss, “How can I say no if you ask this so straightforwardly?” Kyungsoo would be lying if he says he wasn’t expecting the invitation, so he doesn’t ponder too long over the request, his judgement still hazy over the thrumming in his bloodstream.

Both get on their feet hastily, Jongin putting on his now-dusty coat. Kyungsoo rearranges his slacks, trying hard to cover the rocket in his pocket. With new self-confidence, he grabs Jongin’s wrist and they finally walk out of the elevator.

“This way,” Jongin guides him with a hand on his lower back. “Would you like to have some ramen tonight?” he asks, tucking the loose hem of Kyungsoo’s shirt for him as they walk their way to Jongin’s apartment.

Kyungsoo pries Jongin’s hands off his waist, “Ramen, my ass,” he snorts as they reach the apartment.

“I only said ramen,” Jongin opens the door and steps aside. “You said ass,” he teases, white teeth showing in crooked smile.

As soon as Kyungsoo enters the apartment, Jongin backs him up against the wall and kisses him passionately, strong arms on his waist draw him closer, making Kyungsoo moan into the kiss. He’s always liked the way Jongin melts him with just the perfect pressure on his lips, with how he touches him on the right places. Jongin’s thigh sneaks in between Kyungsoo’s, spreading them apart to make more room for Jongin to fill and grind their crotches together.

“Not gonna lie.” Kyungsoo pants into Jongin’s mouth amidst rushed kisses. “This is messed up, but I like it too much.”

Jongin smiles, and wipes his bottom lip with a finger. There it is again, the soft gaze that Kyungsoo used to love so much back in happier days. It’s as if he’s something precious, and Jongin can’t take his eyes off of him.

“Follow me,” Jongin grabs his hand, taking him further down the hallway into the living room.

The room is practically the same as Kyungsoo’s, not big nor too small, cramped to the brim with stacks of boxes from the move. There’s enough space to comfortably fit a TV, a coffee table and a large sofa, like the one Kyungsoo plop himself onto.

“You left your TV on,” Kyungsoo comments, side-eyeing the device hanging on the wall.

“Do you want to watch something?” Jongin asks, flipping his hair out of his eyes, barely turning up the volume of the TV. “I honestly would rather have the TV watch us,” Jongin faces Kyungsoo and places his hand high on Kyungsoo’s inner thigh.

“Stop teasing,” Kyungsoo spreads his legs slightly. “It won’t get you anywhere,” he says, his eyes travelling down to Jongin’s lips.

Jongin chuckles and leans in. “I can see that,” he mocks Kyungsoo, nosing his throat.

Kyungsoo hears Jongin say something, but he’s too caught up in the feeling of Jongin’s fingers inching closer towards his crotch. “What?” Kyungsoo breathes out.

“I asked if you were cold,” Jongin bluffs his shaky excuse as he moves closer, trailing soft kisses from his neck to his cheek. “I can always come up with some ideas to warm you up.”

A pleasant shiver runs through Kyungsoo’s spine as he moves to face Jongin. Their breaths mingle as they pant so closely to each other. Kyungsoo places his hand on Jongin’s and guides it to the growing bulge in his pants. Jongin’s touch on his erection feels heavenly as he palms and grips firmly his clothed dick, and when Kyungsoo lets out a sinful moan due to Jongin’s ministrations, Jongin takes him by the nape before mashing their lips together.

Jongin is the one in control as he places Kyungsoo onto his back, kissing him deeply as Kyungsoo fists Jongin’s tee. Jongin ventures to explore beyond Kyungsoo’s lips, licking the shell of his ear as he undoes some buttons of Kyungsoo’s shirt, earning a hiss from the other. Kyungsoo’s neck looks inviting as Jongin slips Kyungsoo’s shirt off of one of his shoulders. He used to love nipping at the trail of moles that go from behind his ear to his shoulder blade.

Kyungsoo’s hands are cold as they sneak under the soft material of Jongin’s sweatshirt. His lean body shivers as Kyungsoo scrapes his short nails along his stomach. Jongin is so riled up that he can’t control himself, hips rolling against Kyungsoo’s, hands lifting slowly his dress shirt from where it is tucked inside Kyungsoo’s pants, revealing his stomach and more smooth skin to run his hands on.

Kyungsoo breaks the kiss to get some air, Jongin breathes heavily against his mouth, not wanting to let him go. The room is too hot now. Kyungsoo drops his hand to palm the throbbing tent in Jongin’s jeans as he starts stripping him out of his long-sleeved t-shirt with his other hand, eliciting a breathy moan from Jongin’s parted lips.

Jongin pecks him one last time before standing up from the couch, supporting Kyungsoo on his buttocks, making Kyungsoo let out a gasp from the sudden action. Kyungsoo circles his arms around Jongin’s neck as the other takes them toward his bedroom.

Jongin closes the door with his foot as he puts Kyungsoo down and strips him out of his shirt, finally revealing his slim frame. Jongin turns Kyungsoo around and trails kisses from his nape to his shoulder as Jongin hugs him closer, goosebumps appearing on Kyungsoo’s skin with the action. Jongin has always loved this weak spot on Kyungsoo’s body, and he certainly likes to take advantage of that for his own entertainment.

They undress each other urgently, Kyungsoo’s slacks long forgotten by the door, Jongin’s skinny jeans thrown over a piece of furniture. Jongin kisses him deeply when they land on the soft bed, both still clad in their underwear with their chests flush against each other, soft skin painting a beautiful contrast between each other’s complexions.

Their kisses relent, now adopting a slow lustful pace. Jongin straddles Kyungsoo, leaving hot kisses and love bites on his neck, clavicles, and down his chest. They inevitably roll their hips together in search for more of that delicious friction. It’s overwhelming in a way they just need to feel the other with all their senses involved. Jongin’s fingers card through Kyungsoo’s dark hair as Kyungsoo’s hands run along the expanses of Jongin’s lean thighs. They stare at each other; they kiss the other’s plump lips; they bite, grab and pull whatever they find in the other’s body that looks too irresistible not to mark with their mouths.

Jongin’s breath hitches when Kyungsoo hooks a finger on the elastic band of Jongin’s underwear and starts dragging it down slowly, looking right into Jongin’s eyes and biting his plush lips. Jongin lets him go ahead and responds with a lick on the shell of Kyungsoo’s ear as well as sneaking his own hand inside Kyungsoo’s underwear, palming his hard-on, which evokes a type of moan that only Jongin’s been able to hear from Kyungsoo’s pretty little mouth.

Jongin gets up from the bed only to kick out the last piece of clothing left on his body and quickly grab something from his drawer. When he joins Kyungsoo again, he makes him get under the covers, perfectly aware of how much Kyungsoo has a thing for rocking their bodies together under a makeshift cocoon, as if it’s their own special little place.

Kyungsoo lies on Jongin’s bed, both hands placed besides his head, his chest rising and falling breathing shallowly, expectation clearly showing in his eyes.

“You’re so beautiful,” Jongin whispers, looking at the boy below him as if he’s a painting of his favorite artist.

“Touch me,” Kyungsoo pants, taking Jongin’s hands and slowly dragging them down to the hem of his boxers briefs.

Jongin compliantly undresses Kyungsoo, making sure to cover his chest and stomach in kisses, run his nose along the soft skin of his stomach, swirling his tongue on his navel and venturing further down to play with the swollen head of his dick, pecking, licking and nipping at the smooth skin there. Jongin watches as how Kyungsoo writhes under Jongin’s ministrations, how he seeks for some kind of friction, how he moans wantonly when Jongin takes his time to prep him.

The sensation when Jongin finally enters him is slick. Kyungsoo’s walls wrap deliciously around Jongin’s shaft, and both heave a deep sigh at the action. Kyungsoo pulls Jongin closer to him, hugging him firmly to get more of him. They relish in each other as Jongin snaps his hips against Kyungsoo, slowly at first, drinking up the feeling of nostalgia and that tingly feeling of being back home. Kyungsoo laces his fingers on Jongin’s hair, inviting him to kiss his lips, and breathe in both of their moans.

Their pace comes to a halt as Kyungsoo shifts both of them around, Jongin’s head against the headboard, and him fully seated on Jongin’s dick. Jongin’s hands are firm on Kyungsoo’s hips as the other supports his weight on Jongin’s chest. Kyungsoo starts rotating his hips, in a way only he knows makes Jongin go mad, so it doesn’t take long before they’re both panting helplessly and meeting each other’s thrusts in daze, soon reaching their climax. Jongin’s I love yous tumbling out of his mouth as he snaps his hips so hard against Kyungsoo that it makes Kyungsoo lose grip on Jongin’s chest. Kyungsoo lands heavily on Jongin’s chest and moans against Jongin’s ear, the feeling of completion coming in wave after wave of indulging pleasure.

“I missed you,” Jongin pants, lips brushing Kyungsoo’s shoulder. “I really missed you.”

Kyungsoo has a hard time to find the right words to speak as he slowly comes to his senses, the feeling flowing through his veins too overwhelming.

“Did you mean that?” Kyungsoo asks, eyes closed as he rests his head against Jongin’s shoulder. “What you said back in the elevator?”

Jongin doesn’t answer right away. Instead, he takes Kyungsoo’s face in his hands and makes Kyungsoo look at him. He stares at Kyungsoo’s nose, his flushed cheeks, his eyebrows, and the beautiful pair of heart-shaped lips.

“I did,” he nods. “And I would do anything to keep you here and get you back,” he adds a little restlessly.

“I still don’t know why you ran away from me,” Kyungsoo breathes heavily, still trying to catch some air, “figuratively, of course.”

“I was insecure,” Jongin says as he runs his hands along Kyungsoo’s back. “I was too scared to fall for someone who would leave me for something better.”

“That’s not fair, Jongin,” Kyungsoo buries his head in the crook of Jongin’s neck, gasping lightly as Jongin starts groping his ass. “Your leaving me made me have trust issues, you know?”

“I’ll mend everything,” he promises, kissing Kyungsoo deeply and laughing at how lewd he sounds when Jongin inserts a playful finger in his entrance.

Kyungsoo’s breath hitches. “Good,” he breathes out.

They kiss fervently again, hot lips against the other, teeth biting soft skin from time to time. Their erratic breathing and moans reverberating on the walls, and the loud creak of the bed accompanying them the whole night.

Kyungsoo wakes up the next day, his back and jaw a little sore. He glances at the clock on the chest of drawers in front of the bed and decides it’s still quite early. The faint smell of breakfast being cooked makes its way through the room, making his eyes close in delight. Recollections from the previous night flashing in front of his eyes.

He would be lying to himself if he says that he’s not afraid Jongin might pull the same stunt twice and leave his side without notice, but when a warm body joins him in bed and hugs him from behind, kissing his cheek, full of affection, he reassures himself that everything will be fine this time.

Jongin brushes his lips on Kyungsoo’s nape before leaving a sweet kiss on one of his moles. “Good morning, penguin,” Jongin whispers Kyungsoo’s old pet name. “Heard you talking in your sleep last night.”

Kyungsoo turns around and sees Jongin fully dressed smiling at him. “And what did I say?” he asks, nosing under Jongin’s chin.

Jongin chuckles and straddles Kyungsoo, leaving playful pecks on his exposed neck. ”You said you love me back,” Jongin murmurs, bumping their foreheads together.

Kyungsoo sighs, “Funny how tables turn,” he says while stretching his tired limbs. “Now you’re the one trying to coax some love from me,” he adds, scratching his jaw.

Jongin radiates this warm aura that Kyungsoo has never felt before, his eye-smile so damn alluring that melts Kyungsoo’s insides. “I love you,” Jongin says.

It feels as if he’s the sun, and Kyungsoo is willing to gravitate around him.

“I love you too.”
