Title: Sad Wedding Song [drabble]
Pairings: Hanchul & one-sided Jay/Heechul

Summary: Based off of "Sad Wedding Song" - The Trax.
"I must be happy.
Even after you leave my side,
I will give my blessings to you. I loved
your marriage but now that we come to this place,
I can't do anything except pray for your happiness."
Jay sits at the very back of the contradicting church, wondering when his nutcase of a best friend had grown up so quickly without him. The ‘bride and groom’ stand in all their lovely glory at the podium, impatiently reciting lines containing promises of forever and cliché vows.
‘What a beautiful couple’, he bitterly lies to himself.
They share a heart-warming kiss (not passionate, just filled with genuine love) to seal the deal.
"If I send you off,
how will I go on living?
You were the reason I lived.
My tears fall because I can't see you.
I see you for the last time as you walk away."
Heechul and Hangeng, now bound together for life, proceed to accept overly-dramatic congratulations with their smiles full of glee and joyful laughter.
When Jay’s turn comes, his words aren’t full of ‘treat each other well’s or ‘I’m so happy for you’s. Instead, he uses lines that describe the hardships of marriage and life, as if to make the happy couple regret their recent commitment.
Heechul’s cheesy smile appears, oblivious to his best friend’s pain and heartbreak.
“Don’t worry, I couldn’t be happier.”
Jay flashes a fake smile and walks away, not looking back.
"Good-bye, my darling.
When I see your happy smile,
I only ask myself about the love
I have inside my heart, and I turn away."
‘Why did I ever fall in love?’
“Wait.” Jay instinctively pauses in hearing Heechul’s command.
“You called, Princess?” He still uses the same old nickname, although it’s been upgraded to ‘Queen’, as of late.
“You’ll find that special someone someday, I just know it. So…don’t give up on love.”
Jay’s façade breaks, finally revealing his true feelings. “I’ve already found that special someone.” He dolefully replies. “But he already belongs to someone else. Too bad for me, I guess.”
Jay laughs without humor at the sudden befuddlement on Heechul’s pretty face.
“I want to believe in love…again.” He then walks away with those last words, leaving his best friend to his mixed up emotions and thoughts about a startling, new realization.
"Because I am okay.
You must be happy.
I wanna believe in love again."
