So I had a wonderful week off hanging out with my parents and knitting up a storm. And then I got back to work only to find out that I am going to Japan

Oh, awesome! When are you going?

We'll leave the 9th and come back the 16th I think. Which only leaves a little time on Sunday for visiting, and I think one of my coworkers who's never been overseas plans on sticking close to me. So we'll see if I can get to do any geekery. I wish I hadn't just finished using up my vacation time, or I could use it now and go see Catt.
