Help me find a dress...

So Kaylee took her pictures on Monday for the fair princess pageant. She had on a bandana dress that cost me $6 total and all it is is two bandanas sewn together and 2 ribbons to make sleeves. I snapped pics the other day. She was complemented and actually waved at the lady taking the picture. So unlike her since again, she has the personality of a ( Read more... )

I really really hate the second one...if my mom had ever dressed me in something like that I'd burn the pics. I called my mom over to look at it and she said "sunday best? Sunday nightmare!"

the first one just needs smaller flowers and a little less poof, but with a "sunday best" theme, neither seems to fit.. no way would anything like that get worn on a sunday.

Yes, I agree. I want it to be simple like the first one and the wand thing and ugly flower in her hair need to go. I just found some with a simple decal. My problem is during pictures or at the pageant if she has this BIG flower or poof in front of her face she will be so fascinated on getting it out of her face that she won't look at anyone or anything other than the flower or whatever it is. I know my daughter well. LOL!

The 6-9 year olds have to wear tea length gowns and the 11-14 have to wear formal wear. 15-18 year olds wear a swimsuit and then a prom type dress. Theirs is more expensive to get in.

This cost me $30 total to get in and the rules are flexible, I think they just don't want parents thinking they have to spend $400 on a dress, ya know. $70 is my limit since I spend that on the older twos outfits for pictures anyway. I just wanted something princessy but simple still. Everything I am looking at is all over the top.

Sunday nightmare...LOL! That's funny!

Haha! I saw that just now and put the phone down thinking, "Oh it is Steve's mom, she'll leave a message and he can call her back, " along with some eye rolling. LOL! I guess I should pay more attention huh. I'll call you in a minute as soon as the kids quiet down.

I dont think any of the those 3 fit the "Sunday Best" theme, personally.

Yeah, which is why I am trying to tweak it. I don't want like, she is going to a wedding, like the other dresses I saw, but I don't want plain like I put her in for the pictures. I don't want it to look like I went to wal-mart and just picked a dress off the rack and threw it on her either. That's what one baby had on and it was not cute at all. They are judged on their outfit but personality as well. Again besides the point, because I don't care so much about the whole pageant aspect, but I want her to stand out too, like be remembered because they hang the pictures on the village hall for the next 1000 years. LOL!

I should say the girl that won last year was wearing a $400 frilly fufuie pageant dresses and in the summer one the 2 yr old that won was wearing a body suit and a tutu with a crown. It is so not "Sunday best theme" just something they say as a guideline I guess.

I may just have her wear her pillowcase dress and save this for her professional photos.
