This inner nature, as much as we know of it so far, seems not to be intrinsically or primarily or necessarily evil. The basic needs (for life, for safety and security, for belongingness and affection, for respect and self-respect, and for self-actualization), the basic human emotions and the basic human capacities are on their face either neutral,, pre-moral or positively "good."i not entirely sure i can buy that. good/bad or good/evil appear to me to be entirely human terms. i'm leaning strongly towards believing nature is entirely neutral; nature cannot teach us moral lessons. perhaps is "good" is defined as "perpetuates the individual or species" then nature could be good, but i am not sure that definition would lead to a very pleasant human world. it's pretty close to "might makes right ( ... )
