Here's the catch: it has to be centered around a non-canon ship (like Alice/Edward, for instance), which is a relationship that could never, ever happen in the books

GOD. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR SAYING THAT. i don't know if you know this, but i role play bella hardcore. i'm always considering her twilight!bella, because she had so much potential then. new moon/eclipse sort of butchered that, but i think there's still some hope. i'm clinging to it until it vanishes.

This is heartbreaking. I honestly was hoping for one of those happy endings where they walk off into the sunset and he glitters.

I haven't read a Jasper/Bella where it's not a happy ending for either of them. Bella having a backbone is refreshing, and I absolutely loved "Well, fuck me sideways, that's a big surprise." and how it was influenced by Jake (the inner J/Ber squeed with happiness! :D)). You really made it work; it's so believable, and it's so great to see Bella being strong for once in her pathetic existance.

This She doesn't know if she can ever look at him without thinking of what she's lost because of him. is my favourite line; to know Bella gave Jasper a chance while she was with Edward is fantastic and it gives her more layers to be a strong character that you've portrayed here. (Please send this to Smeyer and show her how it's done! :P).

This is written so wonderfully and it's really beautiful, but it's sad and it works. I like it very much!
