BREAKING DAWN WRITE-A-THON

MEND THE FAILBOAT.

After reading Breaking Dawn, what do you wish had happened? What do you think should have happened? Hey, what could have happened, if not for various SMeyer-related reasons?

Here's your chance to rewrite the book how you want to, if only in a few little pieces.

i'd love to hate your smile - rosalie/bella - pg kaiwynn August 3 2008, 01:29:06 UTC
Also written for the slash-a-thon, but I had too much fun writing it not to share. As far as I'm concerned, this is totally freaking canon.

---

Her hand is winter, frozen snow, but Bella's fingers aren't warmer. She doesn't loosen her hold.

"You'll be fine, Bella. The baby will be fine. I'm here for you."

If this is what it takes to keep the child safe, she'll do it.

She'd do more than this. She'd rip a warm throat out with her own teeth, steel sinking through butter. If it weren't for the baby, she would have done it by now.

But the approach she chooses is soothing angel, wiping a feverish brow with freezing fingers to cool a fever. Dry lips parched for something more than water are temporarily sated by the touch of Rosalie's. A long, manicured hand caresses the overextended belly and underneath, drifting lower to calm the poor sick girl.

If this is what it takes.

"Thank you for being here with me, Rosalie."

A smile (it looks genuine enough to her) with dazzling teeth, quick kiss on her forehead. "I wouldn't be ( ... )

I haven't finished the book yet, but I've read far enough to see the serious subtext between these two. You captured that perfectly. You've written Rosalie's determination to keep the baby safe in a very powerful way, and we see both sides of the coin here: the fierce protector and the gentle caretaker. I love your characterization of her and how she is with Bella. And if this isn't canon, I don't know what is. Srsly.

Thanks for creating this post. I can't wait to read what others write. Hell, I might even try my hand at Twilight fic.

Thank you! This isn't really how I think of Rosalie, y'know...my fanon version is so much stronger in my mind, without all the baby stuff.

Hey, you totally should! I'm sure it would be awesome.

broke my heart and now i'm looking for you - tanya/edward - pg lastupenda August 3 2008, 03:09:45 UTC

She kept her end of the bargain. She came down from Denali with her sisters, acted amiably to everyone, did not make a fuss a few hours before the ceremony and greeted the bride as courteously as she could manage.

The girl is the embodiment of the blushing bride, complete with pink cheeks, shining eyes and Tanya can smell her virginity a mile away.

She is in next in line and she leans forward to embrace Edward, pressing her breasts fully against his chest and whispers She's very pretty. Edward hands only clutch reflexively against her hips and only does she let go when he maneouvers himself out of her arms. You don't like that anymore, do you?She pretends and lies to herself that this wedding and union is of no consequence to her. She makes herself think that Edward is just a boy she dangled with around because he was attractive and pleased her. But Tanya is nothing less than a great actress. She has experience and can mask and transform herself into a completely different person ( ... )

I was young, I was green, prone to foolish decisions, jacob/bella edward/bella, PG-13 miss_mishi August 3 2008, 03:47:23 UTC
Forever begins with cascades of ruffles and satin bows falling in perfect whispers. It slithers through the cracks of their first night accidentally. Bella presses her lips to his cheek and his move to her slender neck feeling blood rushing past his open mouth. She slips forward and his teeth graze her skin. His tongue stains red, slides over his lips, and there's no turning back.

They never get a honeymoon.

*

As she turns she bites down hard, leaving another row of teeth marks on her marred lips. Nails press hard into clenched fists. When she wakes up - when her once brown eyes blink black with hunger, she whispers she’s all right, but the truth pours from her mind into his. He hears her for the very first time.

I never wanted to get married.Arms pull her back, Emmett's and Jasper's faces strained, imaginary sweat drips down impossible muscles when she breaks free. The hiking girl never has a chance. She's the third on their long run north. Thin hands close around a tiny throat, ripping, biting, clawing, glowing red ( ... )

OH GOD.

this is breaking dawn. THIS IS WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. i swear if smeyer was writing fanfic, why didn't she read good fanfic like this first?

It was when Bella realized she no longer cared for what Tanya and Edward may have done. It was when the flutter of keys and the light hands on the ivory didn’t wrench her heart from her chest. It was when Tanya sighed Edward’s name just audibly with eyes closed and lips perched in a perfect smile.

holy crap. this is beautiful.

Hee. THANK YOU! <333 Is it narcisistic to say I agree I think this is what should have happened too >_> Because there's no nessie. And the sex is twisted and bloody. And he changes her by accident during sex, which, btw, I totally though was going to happen pre-nessie.

not narcissistic at all. NO NESSIE. and realistic. and guhhh, with the characters pre-bd, i could totally see this happening. i can SEE them making these choices. and now they're foreign to me D:

the lives we tangled ourselves in- jacob/leah-pg nuits_froides August 3 2008, 03:59:16 UTC
He barely registers what he hears anymore.

The only image is that of Bella, on the brink of dying.
All he does is think about her.

His world, as unresolved as ever, still functions primarily around her well being.

He falls to his knees, begs to the sky (never to God; he let him and now he will never believe again) that she gets better.

He didn't bother to hear what someone else was begging for.

-

She holds her breath for as long as she can underwater.

Three minutes has been her most.

She runs her fingers through her (now wet) matted hair, silently cursing to herself.

Why am I still here?It seemed rational, the time she was escaping Sam, the master puppeteer who cut her strings and left her broken on the floor ( ... )

I wanted Jacob and Leah soooooooooo bad.

I kept waiting for something, ANYTHING, but no.

SMEYER IS FULL OF DAMN FAIL.

MJackson might enjoy this book though.

Quil/Claire
Nessie/Jacob

Yup, his style.
