Remembering Zhang Ju

Nine years ago tonight, Zhang Ju was killed in a motorcycle accident on the Zizhuqiao onramp near the Shangri-la hotel on Beijing's west side. A bunch of years too late, but I'm just getting into the Chinese rock scene. I've been googling and getting as much English-based stuff as I can and your stuff is normally the first or second link: reasonably so.

This is incredibly well-written. Poignant, but certainly not over-the-top. You've taken the good with the bad, it seems. Definitely an inspiration to someone who's dead set on becoming a full-time reporter in the music scene. I'm still trying to track down Tang Dynasty things, and I've been trying to grab songs of artists you've recommended here.

It's a shame that it seems that the more talent a band has, the more tragic it ends.
