Our back patio and slider door have become a refuge for fire ants. I've gotten a couple of toes on my left foot bitten/stung by the litte fuckers

One of my veteran friends developed a successful strategy for handling siafu: 1 teaspoon of sugar every morning planted in the opposite direction from your turf (always put it in the same place), and borax crumbled over the area where you *don't* want them.
