You're a miracle granting witch? [He never would have guessed.]

I am. Do you take issue with my title?

No, no. I just always figured that a witch that grants miracles would be a bit more optimistic!

But, human, I am the epitome of optimism. No one is more optimistic than I am.

Oh, of course. You're the epitome of optimism.

Not in the mood for a good joke today? [She was so sure he would laugh too...]

I guess I'm too curious. Why don't you have a more positive outlook? I mean, you get to make people happy!

Happy? Please. No one is ever happy with a wish they are granted. They get that wish and then decide they want something entirely different.

Aw, I'm sure that doesn't happen all the time.

Not always. Still, it happens more than you would imagine it would. I have lived far too long to be fooled into such things. Now I only grant wishes if I feel a 'miracle' is required for them.

But you can't treat everyone like the ones you met before. Each person is different and should all be given a fair chance, don't you think?

Even so, that misses the point. Do you know what the definition of a miracle is?

Well, I must admit, my idea is probably a lot different from someone who grants them.

Then let me explain. A miracle is when the impossible happens. If someone was sick with a terrible affliction and the possibility of their recovery was close to zero, it would take a "miracle" for them to be healed. Do you understand?

Yeah, I think so.

Then you understand why I don't like granting wishes. A miracle is only a miracle when it does not occur. If I was granting everyone's wishes left and right, then I wouldn't even be a Witch. I would just be some God.

[And being God is pretty damn boring in her opinion.]
