What (in your opinion) are the best Jdramas out right now? I've only watched bits and pieces of Unabore Deka and Joker but not nearly enough to make a judgement and I don't wnat to waste my time with bad TV ( Read more... )

This seems to be a really good season for Japanese dramas. There's something for everyone: romance, comedy, crime, suspense, family. So far, I've liked: Joker, Unabore Deka, Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku, Hotaru no Hikari 2, and Tobo Bengoshi. I'd rec all of them. I discussed them all at my journal, if that might help you decide.

Thanks, I read your posts. I might try Mioka. I hate dramas about terminalliy ill people but you made this sound interesting. Maybe Natsu no Koi and Joker also.

Mioka isn't that sad, so far. It's a bit cheesy, but sweet. I like Natsu no Koi and Joker.

Hey there! Long time no see. :) Not even sure you still check your LJ anymore or not, since this is dated last year. ^_^;;

Are you still translating JDramas, or have you officially retired? I'm looking for someone to translate the second season of BOSS.

If you can help me out, that would be awesome! Even if you can't translate it, if you could, instead, point me to someone who would be able to, that would be just as awesome!

Hey! No, I'm not officially retired, just haven't seen anything that good recently. I did see BOSS season 1. I think it was pretty good, can't really remember though. I'm pretty busy right now with university and stuff but this semester is ending in like 2 weeks. I'm just taking 1 class this summer so maybe I won't be too busy. Could you please send me a message in about 2 weeks reminding me? My gf also knows Japanese so maybe she could help me too.

Thanks for replying so quickly! :D And thanks for the possible help! I truly appreciate it and will probably shoot you a message in 2 weeks to see if you're still able to translate it. :)

I want to sub this series for my Japanese Club as well as my new Japanese History and Culture Class that I'm teaching this semester. I've gotten students in both groups completely addicted to this series (as much as I am ^_^) and when I heard that season 2 had been released, I was beyond ecstatic... until I saw no one was subbing it.
