A New Reason to Reduce the Drinking Age to 18

This topic randomly approached my mind today, and I thought of yet another reason why America would be better off with a drinking age of 18

Yes but if the drinking age was lowered then how are the older kids supposed to seem cooler to the younger ones?

The drinking age for many European countries is 16 and not enforced. If they see a 13 year old getting a beer, they just think he's getting it for his dad or something. The thing that makes 21 such an encouragement to binging is the taboo aspect. If it's taboo, people are going to do it. I know so many people that stopped drinking when they turned 21, it's ricockulous. Take away the taboo, take away the incentive to binge and abuse from 18 to 21. Breaking the taboo is the sex of the act

There's such an absence of personal responsibility in the US today. Raising the drinking age was just another symptom of it.
