Experiment Log 001: Monster Class Z(ombie).

Preliminary experiments: Complete.

Notes: The zombies infesting the Infinite Fortress show increased speed (roughly 1.3x average human speed) and endurance (vulnerable to fire but not deterred by it; lightning stuns temporarily; ignore physical blows even as damage accumulates). Human intelligence is ( Read more... )

They're not so good with ladders, either. Or, well, the ones here aren't. Put some pretty damn big dents in the steel doors, though.

I haven't been allowing them near ladders; there aren't terribly many around as compared to stairwells, but the ladders here tend to lead to places I really don't want them to go. Still, that's good to know; I'll put that on the list to test next, as it seems like specific attributes vary from world to world.

Yeah, well, I'm up a ladder and I sure don't want them coming up here. Didn't find it out on purpose, though

The data from these experiments prove quite interesting. I shall compare my data sets when my observations have concluded.

Understood. An even distribution of knowledge is most harmonious.

It seems like you're having fun though it also appears that different areas have different Zombie types. The ones back at my home were easily taken out with a headshot, though the ones at another took decapitation to put them down. Interesting.

Interesting indeed. You also mentioned having tentacle beasts in your world, where I've yet to see anything like that--for which I'm quite grateful.

I have to wonder what governs OSTA's decisions to send what, where...and if being transported somehow affects the properties of the monsters themselves.

Oh it wasn't in my world. If I'm honest, I'm not sure what world I was in. Didn't stop to look at the scenery.

No idea, maybe they just closed their eyes and did eenie meanie minni mo and hoped for the best.

Ah. My mistake, then.

That's a possibility--the likeliest one, or something like it, if they actually didn't realize where their trash was going to end up.

If I minded, I wouldn't have posted it where anyone could see it. Go right ahead--we can consider it fair trade for the texts I asked you for. By the way, you are done with them, correct?

Ah, I see. In that case, let me know when you're ready to share, Mr. Lester.

I'm in Nhode. Unfortunately I havn't found much out. I met a man who refused to give his name, but came from a planet he identified as Gunsmoke; from his description the zombies there are functionally identical to the ones here. Most of the urban population there has evacuated to Nhode.

Nhode seems to have been very well-prepared for mass immigration. There's plenty of space and supplies available. However, if there is a central authority directing it they have taken few steps to make their presence known. People are left to their own devices. The most explanation I've found anywhere was a map of Nhode itself - pictographic, so they must haveanticipated refugees from many areas with different languages.

Good work, Juubei. Gunsmoke, hmm... Was the man blond, with a red outfit and a silly personality?

Yes. He deflected the question of his name repeatedly and then presented an obvious psuedonym.

... have you communicated with him?

He mentioned he's looking for explosives to help protect the survivors there. If you still have no plans for what's stored in 48-3-Q, I thought we might pass it on.
