Guess I'm not doing too well on my New Year's Resolutions. My finance management's fallen by the wayside (and my book has vanished under a pile of paper and other things that need filed), and I haven't done this for three weeks now. So I'm going to try to make up for it now...
Negative Things:- Got into an argument with my dad over my employment situation--he thinks I'm not employed enough.
- Had to yell at the probation officer, again, because that family failed to pay their restitution payment on time...did I mention "again"?
Neutral Things:- Had to be harsh on Cody in order to get him to see that his ex-girlfriend is little better than a street-corner whore and he was just her meal-ticket. On the plus side, he's finally letting go of her and spending more time being pissed off at her than moping and pining over her.
- Talked to Swing Club's advisor and she has agreed to support me and a chosen group of running mates in a potentially-hostile takeover of the Club. I'm pleased because I, with the help of my co-officers, hopefully can get the Club back on its feet, and if everything I'm planning comes to fruition, it's gonna have legs and won't need me to stick around to keep it going. On the flip side, that means I worked my ass off Friday night--nine hours Friday night and a couple hours since of Total Swing Dance Website Ass-Kickery! That site takes all other swing dance websites, RAWR's at them and makes them bow to it. Huzzah!
- Got that job with the University, trapping bushy-tailed woodrats (for the uneducated, these are a.k.a. common packrats). It should last at least all summer and maybe into the fall; on the other hand, I haven't gotten a definite answer from Mystic Saddles about trail guiding for the summer, and if they offer me a job, it's gonna be tough to decide which job to take. If I can, I'd like to do both, but I doubt I'd have enough time away from the trail guide job to properly trap.
- Have been rewatching all of my movies, in alphabetical order, by type--DVD, CD, VHS, RvB. Does that tell you how BORED I am?
- I *think* Colin has a new truck. This is good because his old truck gave me the total creepy-willies ever since I dreamed of his (then girlfriend) wife's death in a car accident in a dark-colored rig--but on the flip side, it has me freaked because I'm afraid maybe there was said car accident and that's why he's got a new truck. I don't KNOW that the new rig is his, but it's been parked in his parking space at the F&G office, backed into the space like he always parks, for two weeks. I *think* that if the accident had happened, I'd have heard about it, but I don't know that for certain. Been watching the local obituaries.
Positive Things:- Almost have Cody convinced to try to get this coming weekend off and come down here for the opening of Spiderman 3.
- My muse took off rather violently, resulting in 20-something pages of THIS. I've written some more since that was put up, but I haven't published it to PDF yet, so it hasn't been uploaded.
- On that note, I've been having some fun at Kluden Weyr.
- Got some new music!
- Survived a weekend with my parents, going on a birdwatching trip. We saw a VERY rare bird, a Marbled Godwit, presumably on its migration route, though there seemed to be only one of them. That was a new one for all of us.
- Made two new RvB converts. Woot!
- Also got my laptop's CD burner figured out so I can burn CDs again (by which I can distribute RvB)--though I still haven't gotten my DVD burner figured out, stupid thing.
