I should hear some screaming at the end of this chapter. We might be heading into something that's been HEAVILY requested soon. ;) But I'm just guessing.
*wibble* ;_; Poor Kal-El, unable to quite make all the connections yet.
But gods, it was so good to see Jonathan opening up to him, seeing Kal-El (Clark, yay!) more as a son now.
Getting a bad feeling about the net that Sam is casting out, but I suppose there's nothing to be done about that now. :/ Just gotta find a way to get Kal-El and Lois reconnected!
But he's getting there; Lois is there, in memory and no more than three miles from him. That and Lois is honestly going to force Lana to at least get out at some point before she goes nuts and takes everyone with her.
Poor Jonathan. It's tough to be put into the situation that the Kents are currently in. A lot of people would be so freaked out that they'd turn the alien in to the Army just out of sheer fright, whether he's a nice guy or not. The reality is that you have no idea WHAT he could do.
That said, I think Martha and Jonathan are both going to be floored when they realize what the deal is with him. That's going to be a hell of a surprise.
You're right to smell a rat with Sam; Sam doesn't realize the enormous can of worms that's going to be forced open when he finally gets what he wants and it's going to change EVERYTHING.
Does General Lane know about the superpowers that a Kryptonian has under a yellow sun? Because it would be kind of obvious that there'd be a possible different route that an alien could take in that situation that would put him well out of range.
We brought this up a couple of chapters ago. No, he doesn't have any idea. The other Kryptonians on the planet have been shielding themselves from the radiation the same way we would if we were sent to another planet, which the certainty that it would kill us.
What we haven't mentioned is that Kal-El has already looked into this before he left New Krypton and knew that they might be a possibility.
Now I'm wondering which thing we're leading towards. Kal-El being captured by General Lane, General Lane accidentally running into Lois (while in Smallville in plainclothes) or Lois and Kal-El/Clark finding each other.
