Mildred Loving

Like samueljl, I didn't know who Mildred Loving was until today. But having followed the link on his LJ, I think she is someone to be remembered. She died on Friday.

I remember learning about her in my mother's history class in high school. The name stuck - how more perfect could it be to challenge a law against marrying the person you love if they're not the right color? I love that later in life she not only reiterated her position, but clarified that she meant everyone who wants to get married - including same-sex couples.
