Dr Who Drabble

May 12, 2008 02:03

We just finished watching Doomsday, and my muse wouldn't let me sleep until I finished this drabble. It's my first drabble ever. By wc, it's exactly 100 words.

It's not got a ton of spoilers, but I'm lj-cutting it anyway.

London's got a Cybermen Invasion Memorial Wall, now. I'm not the only one who takes flowers on the anniversary. I haven't missed a one---though I don't always hit them in order. Barbara (a different one; less bossy, and a lesbian) doesn't understand why I go, but she somehow knows not to ask.

I always take the same flowers: aloe, rosemary, red roses, and a handful of cocoa beans. It's my little ritual. It even helps, sometimes.

And sometimes, while Barbara's visiting her daughter, I go sit in the park outside the flats, and pretend.

Just for a little while.
