Okay,I need to rant, just because I saw something today that bugged me a lot. I was driving across the Lake Street bridge and I saw a bumper sticker that says "God is Pro-Life." Now, what do you say to something like that? This person is making no promises about the separation of church and state and all that. It's not like a bumper sticker is ( Read more... )

I don't really know what to say to that bumper sticker.

I will say that I am pro-choice. I want abortion to be legal. if I were in such a situation that I needed/wanted an abortion, I would want to be able to legally get one.

sooo yeah. stupid people.....

though I myself saw a bumper sticker that bothered me. it said: "Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve."
granted this was in small-town Iowa. but still!!! my god!!! that kind of shit is so not cool. plus, like Ron White said: sexual orientaion discrimination is a wasted emotion. and it is. because in some way, everybody is at least bi, it all just depends to what extent. so those people who think being bi or gay is wrong need to shut the fuck up.
oh, and it should totally be legal in all states for gays to get married.

It's complicated, too, on the homosexuality thing. I just spent the evening watching TV with three other people--a gay man, a lesbian woman, and another straight woman. The other two girls are best friends, but the straight one is pretty conservative (she voted for Bush). She believes that homosexuality is a choice, that the Bible is clear on what it says (though she does admit that she doesn't know the Bible well enough to quote it or really know what it says). We had this debate tonight (well, the straight woman and the gay guy did--the other girl and I just talked about how dorky musicians are and some other random stuff), and one thing that surprised me is that both the gay guy and the lesbian girl said that they don't believe that bi people are actually bi--that they're either straight or gay and they don't feel comfortable making a decision. I don't know what I think about that. But it's an interesting idea, because I've always subscribed to the whole "gray scale", spectrum idea.

By the way, I dropped by to wish you a happy birthday. Nice to see you're still stirring up trouble!
