There is one known reason why you apparently feel like a "failure" as a "friend". If you do not know the reason, take the following with a grain of salt and reflect on what you've done before.

You are obsessive over people.

There is being a good friend.

Then there is hovering, clinging and so forth.

You are not the good friend. At best one can refer to you as an accquaintance - but you show severely unhealthy habits that to those who see the signs...

They don't want to be around it.

And turn around, you seem to want to cling to those who don't want anything to do with you and when they react in a negative fashion - it doesn't hurt you. It hurts others. So all around your behavior is highly selfish and it needs to stop.

You cannot be everyone's friend. You cannot expect everyone to like you. That's just a way of life. It is not the end of the world to realize that certain people just do not want to associate with you. Suck it up and move on before you drive everyone away.
