Maybe I am a bit TOO emotionally available, but you would still think after knowing someone for more than a couple of years that you would be able to understand why they do the things they do. For the record, people often see or describe as "a Rock" but I don't see myself that way. I do truly care, but I often feel people's perceptions of me are different than who I am if they cared enough to look deeper and see that I have the same insecurities as everyone else. Over time, I've learned to only put time and effort into people who are willing and able to put time and effort into me as well - without assuming I'm a rock who doesn't need it.

There are a lot of "takers" in this world who will sap you dry. Put out there what you want to receive back. If you don't get it, that should tell you something.
