confusion

i just saw a perfect rainbow the colors were clear and distinct, unlike most rainbows that clearly show 2 or 3 colors and the rest is blurred, it was weird though because it was only visible for about 20 sec. and then the whole sky went dark, i went to get a camera and came back just in time to see the last bits of it fade and i wasn't in time
