SDCC
me and my mom spent the night outside on the lawn, under the canapoies from wednesday night, 11pm, until thursday morning. basically we were waiting in line for Hall H doors to open~. that nighti got a Hilton Blanket, pillow and like 10 water bottles. The blanket ended saving my life in Hall H because it was always freezing in there. except in the front it was way warmer than the back.
When we finally got in we got a decent spot near the front. The first panel was Megamind. Now this movie, is something I didn’t really want to go watch in the movie theaters but after this panel I will like to watch it. I also like that will ferrel dressed up as megamind! Lol. It was really funny, and he is very witty. The panel was fun and I like the cut they showed of the movie more than the previews they have shown in the theaters. Also I like how they kill off brad pitts character. LOL… and yeah… the movie looks entertaining to say the least.
The second panel was tron. And OMG! It looks awesome! But yet I have been brainwashed since last year. Lol. At the panel we got to see a clip of the film in 3-D and it looks amazing! But it could be that they shot in 3-D and there is depth in the shots that the 3-D looks cool, because as of late I am not a huge fan of 3-D. I think 3-D is becoming a marketing choice and not an artistic choice. (I will not rant here about my thoughts on 3-D…) Also another cool trick in the new tron film is the whole jeff bridges plays himself as he is now and his 33 yr old self. I was like spazzing! This sounds so awesome! And the movie looks amazing. Also our voices were recorded for the new film, and it may used in the movie if everything comes out good. i hope it does! After the tron panel we saw previews for the new pirates film and the haunted mansion film. The new film will be produced by Del Toro, and it will be a scary film… not a comedy, so it shall be good. I am a huge del toro film and I look forward to seeing his take on this film.

During the following panel I left the room to go and get the poster, which was limited to 999 because that is how many ghosts that live in the Haunted mansion, and it was signed by the artist of the poster. After I got this poster signed I ran back down and got in line for hall h. I missed the complete Sony panel, but I got inside the hall during the Red panel. The red panel was nice, and the movie looks interesting, we also learned that RED stands for Retired and Extremely Dangerous. It looks like a fun action film, again I did not see the whole panel but what I saw it was fun.
The following panel, was more like a discussion with J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon. It was really interesting to listen to there perspectives on film, television, and other things. People asked really good questions, and it was interesting to hear the different takes from both of them.
The last panel I sat through was the Expendables panel. And that one was FUN! It was really funny, and it was really amusing. Bruce willis showed up really quick at the beginning of the panel, but had to leave to a prior engagement. The plane they fly in the film where one of them is standing in the front was interesting, because the plane was really old (like over 50 I believe) and it hadn’t been flown in years. So they weren’t even sure if the plane would fly, or how long it would stay up in the air. But they did end up using it and shooting the scene. It was really cool listening to these stories, about blowing up explosives in brazil, and basically them trying to one up each other. The film itself looks like its an action pack film, with explosives, and with a lot of great actors.
After this we had to go get out badge for fri and sat. Also, I got a ticket from the red panel to get a poster. so i went to the mariott to redeem the poster. when i cam back there was an ambulance car in front of the the E area of the convention... and it was trying to get out but a train was passing by so the area was getting congested. Since alot of the major events were done people were leaving to go party and such. so it was like 5mionutes of standing there with cops telling us to get back on the sidewalk... yeah trgetting back on the sidewalk when there are 100s of people trying to leave... it didnt happen. And as soon as the train finished there was a mad rush to cross. lol. the convention center itself is elevated and u need to climb stairs, so u have to get down stairs to get in street level. yeah~ people were just jumping off the ledge near the crossing station, it was an over flow of people and no one used the sidewalks... the cops werent happy about that, they were yelling like crazy, but so many people over flowing it was kinda hard to contro the situation. and also according to kim there was a mad rush of people after the scott pilgrim panel, flowing the director to see a viewing of the film. so i think this is why the next day there was caution tape lining the sidewalk and the cops made sure NO ONE steppend off the side walked. lol.
Than we went out to eat to pass time before we head over to FLYNN’s ARCADE. Whem we finally got into flynns it was awesome! When we walked in they had all the games covered, just like how the new tron film has it. And than we go behind the tron arcade game, get to get “pixelized”, afterwards we walk towards this blue light that leads to the dance floor. There we saw a bunch of people who look like people from the world of tron. And the DJ, DJ…, is the person who is working with Daft Punk for the music of the new movie. So it was really awesome to meet him. Another person who was in the room was the director of the new Tron film, he was very nice. The trailer also played in the background after every few minutes. It was awesome! And the place looked awesome! Also I can not wait for the film to come out!

The second day me and my mom slept in and went out for breakfast at the broken yolk. It was tasty, not like the greatest breakfast ever but it was still tasty. while eating we saw my cousins in there hotel and when they saw us they started trying to be funny... it was amusing, they also slept in. eventually they left the window to get ready for sea world. after breakfast i wondered around aimlessly with my mom, got bored and than we went into hall h. i dont know why but friday was pretty epicless... not that many epic stuff as the other days.
when we reached hall h there was no line!!! i had never just walked into hall h before, but kinda tells how epicless the day was... we even got near the front too, and this is like 10 minutes before the first panel. the first panel was drive angry, with nicolas cage. it was an interesting panel... i may end up watching it just because it amused me, but if i miss it in the theaters i doubt i will feel i missed something.
The following panel was Skyline. this movie i will most likely watch... more aliens taking over the world story line. but it still looks cool, and the main guy was able to answer all the quesions very well. and again the cg didnt look terrible, but yet these guys r the ones who do alot of stuff for other films when it comes to cg things.
The third panel was super. now this movie can be EPIC or it can be EPIC FAIL. the panel it self was funny. Ellen page was very witty and it was just amusing. Nathan Fillion was funny as well as Rainn Wilson. They had a brawl to see who would win a fight... again it was a fun panel and the movie can go either way. So i will wait to see more reviews on the film before i spend money at the theaters for it.
The following panel was the dont be afraid of the dark panel with del toro and troy nixey. They showed a teaser trailer, and a clip from the film. now this movie looks scary. they already have the rating apparently, and it will be R. but it sounds really scary~ i dont know if i will be able to handle it... but i am going to see it anyways. the panel was fun and entertaining, and the questions were not annoying.. very good questions and even del toro liked them saying they were really good questions. after the panel he announced that they will be autographing, so i ended up leaving to try and get his autograph.
so we were not told we needed wristbands and when thy told us that i left and went to th exhibit hall. i walked around for an hour and looked around. but all of a sudden i got this gut feeling to go back and get in line. so when i went up to check it out, apparently they were letting people with out wristbands in line. so i got in line, and when the guy who told me we needed wristbands saw me, he turned around and left. lol. i think he didnt want to deal with me... so i got to meet them and it was cool. i also found out that i am not good with dealing with guys... lol.
after all this fiasco i went with my mom to go eat across the street. we ate at the fish place, and watched people in front of the hard rock cafe go in and out, like celebrities and paparazzi... it has gotten to be a very popular hang out spot. we called it ealry that night and went back to the hotel at 11ish, since we were going to wake up early anyways. on our way back we saw the adukt swim ice cream truck!!! so i got free ben&jerry's ice cream!!! it was awesome! lol.
this and a couple of other props from harry potter were at the WB booth.

At 3 am saturday morning, we were in line again for the warner bros panel. It was fun being in line, even if the train is super loud and no one got any sleep. also a drunk guy git in line around 330 and he entertained us for the rest of the morning... until he crashed ofcourse. i think he woke up with a hang over too. lol. it was lots of fun and around 7, we went to get breakfast with my aunt at the broken yolk. it was nice talking to her about her adventures at sea world and such.
we got back in line around 830 and i went to visit the others in the back of the line. apparently in that area there was a mouse running around, so it explains the yells and everyone shifting from place to place, ad the camera crew that came rushing to film the floor.
on our way into hall h we were given bags that had harry potter shirts, a green lanter comic, and like a sucker punch wristband thing.
the green lantern preview was interesting... again i do not know how i feel about this film but i hope its good. during the q&a there was this little boy who was the most adorable kid ever, ask ryan reynolds on how was it to recite the green lantern oath? and ryan reynolds recited it, and the kid was in ahhh and than he held up his hand to show ryan the green lantern ring. lol. and thann ryan also held up his ring to the kid and it was a cute moment. lol. in the end ryan gave the ring to a luck fan who had an envelope under there seat.
After this panel tom felton came on stage to wish daniel radcliffe a happy birthday and introduce the preview they had for us. i really think these 2 films will be really good and i can not wait until the the first one comes out in november...
the last wb panel was suckerpunch... this movie looks good, to me it looks like more for guys... But the cast was really excited to see the footage they brought since they had yet to see anything.
the next panel i do not remember much... and than it was the worst thing that can ever happen the showed us previews for an hour!!!!!! they wonder why the guy stabbed another person with a pen, it was probably becaus eof this.
i mean who wants to sit through an hour worth of trailers!!!! thank you comic con now i do not have to go to the movies anymore t see trailers bcause i probably sayw every trailer until next year!!!!!
but i think people were rating the reaction of the crowd to every trailer. one traler reaction i will never forget was the one to the shamalon movie. it is about these people stuck in an elevator, looks like a suspense film. and i think at first it had everyones attention... i mean people around me were whispering i want to see it... UNTIL what came on the screen? m. night shyamalan's name. it got, i think one of the strongest reactions. as soon as his name appeared on the screen the whole place BOOED! it was like everyone was taking there frustration out by booing the movie. after that everyone around me changed there opinions and said they r TOTALLY NOT going to go watch it.
personally i think m. night shyamalan has practically murdered his career with the last air bender, and i am not sure if many people r going to give him a second chance...
after the many previews i think people were starting to get anxious in there seats. me and the people next to me couldnt stop fidgeting and getting up and walking around.
after this lovely thing, it was resident evil. the movie looks good, if you r into it... looks really cool wioth the special effects and such. it was after this panel that the guy got stabbed witha pen.
i was all the way in the front, and truthfully we didnt even know what happened until the guy came on the mic and told everyone to return to there seats and nothing to see in the back... yeah i think they should not have said that. because everyone in the front didnt even know something happened and as soon as they said that a couple of people from our section left to see what happened in the back. and we also the police come rushing in. so many rumors went flying in hall h, because basically we were on lockdown for about an hour. and thanks to the incident everything got pushed back about an hour.
the following panel was paul... and i have reserves about this. it was cool that they incorporated sdcc though. they also made fun of the whole stabbing incident, i think it help release tension in the air.
the following panel was cowboys and aliens with harrison ford. asnd when harrison came out he came out with two cops and was hand cuffed. lol. it was funny. the prevciew they showed was pretty cool. it is in it very early stages, they just started shooting, so they showed us what looked like was towards the beginning of the film. and it look good... it looked like an old western film, ofcourse we only got to the point were the alkiens show up. but i am interested in this film.
the final panel i stayed for was the marvel studios panel for thor and captain america. captain america was first and they are also barely started filmin, so we just had a rough scene. and the movie looks ok... have to wait until there is more... the last panel was thor. thor looks way better than i thought it was going to look. i havent bought into the whole 3d for it... but the movie looks good. they had q&a and the giuuy who is at marvel was almost getting roasted by the question people. ity was amusing, io think it was annoying him.
at the end of the panel they had a surprise... and it was the avengers!!! samuel l. jackson! and everyone else... and robet downey jr. made a comment about the pen stabbing too. lol. i think it frustrated them as much as it frustrated us. since all the panels basically started an hour later, and finished an hour later!
this basically ended my sdcc 2010 experience. me and my sis basically got into video games live just as the first number was finishing. VGL was lots aof fun and it was a nice way to end the night. but it is very different than when i went to see it in 2006, but i also like the smaller venue~.
we went to my aunts house for the night, so that way we can come back and pick up all the free stuff that we got from collecting the tickets.
we got at my aunts house at mid nite and we left her house arund 1 in the afternoon the next day. it was nice to sleep so many hours on a bed. lol.
when we got back to sdcc, i went to the mariott to redeem our tickets. it was a super long line and it ws about a 30minute wait, but i think it was worth it. after i collected my stuff we drove back home.

my friday stuff. the godzilla shirt i got on the exhibit floor, after staring down the lady because she completly ignored me and was trying to give it to a guy. but the guy blew her off so i was still there and she reluctantly gave it to me. lol. also the poster next to it is from the new avatar the last airbender (spinoff? is that the right word?) series.
