Everyone on my flist is obsessed with this series. I watched like 10 episodes or something like two months ago, but I wasn't into it. The jump-cutty vlog format is kind of annoying to me. And now there's a whole bunch of drama going on between the fans and one of the writers that has additionally put me off. But I feel left out! And everyone loves it! So perhaps I'll give it another try one of these days.
The jump-cutty vlog format is kind of annoying to me. Initially it was for me as well. It's two things: 1 - these are meant to be watched two episodes a week, not marathoned, and 2 - the tone at the beginning was more over-the-top comedy sketches, whereas now it has shifted to more dramatic character interaction that just happens to be filmed. Especially for people (like us) who are really familiar we don't really need alot of the character set-up of the earlier episodes which is why I'm going to make that "essential" episodes playlist. That way you can skip straight to the good stuff. Darcy has only been 6 episodes so far but those are the ones I've watched over a dozen times each. Episode 80 is my favorite. It's meta wrapped in layers of juicy subtext.
Hmm. I'm oblivious to any fandom drama. Thank God. I just want to enjoy the story as it unfolds.
