This piece was largely inspired by the industrial bins at my workplace, both Homebush and Sydenham. I was sure that I could use the bins to invoke a bit of Australiana industrial, so I dug up some Thingiverse files and printed three. I think our 1997 selves would be stunned at the quality of these pieces...as indeed is my 2021 self. That windpump is so bang-on for Outback.

The things I could have done with a 3D printer in 1997! It would have been an amazing tool. But yes, in terms of appearance I think I'm doing pretty well for a tabletop game.

Some of the diorama building YouTube channels that are of interest to me are ones who clearly can't paint anywhere close to my standard, but are able to produce stunning results nevertheless. I'm trying to crack their secrets these days, and with the dumpsters in particular, I think I'm making progress.
