the worst vice being advice, here goes: play it off tactfully, act like you don't know that she knows, just tell it to her straight, that you didn't want someone else to tell her first, maybe even throw in something about "i'm glad you haven't let me down as a boss" see if she gets the biting humor, ok so mayhaps not, but yeah
