Truth be told, I don't hate it. I'm mostly in a state of just seeing it and need to process and get used to the differentness of it.

I get wanting to add texture to it, and yeah, it probably needs it rather than just be spandex, so I get that. I just am taken aback by how they chose to do it, and I need to settle in with it.

My biggest issue has always been that I hate that the costume is straight CGI, and it's clearly that, especially the mask. The only thing keeping me ok with it is that yeah, that...kinda makes sense. The costume comes from the ring's energy, so it's more of an energy shell than actual clothing. I'd rather he be wearing something that they made just glow all the time in post, but I can live with this, overall.

I just have to get used to it.

I'm going to spin everything about this in a positive way until or unless the sheer weight of negativity finally breaks me.

But it will be a sad, sad day if that happens.

Man I'll be unhappy if this turns out to suck. I shouldn't set myself up that way, but....

Well, it's described on EW.com as a "massive sci fi epic," which bodes that DC is putting serious money and effort into this, which makes me both nervous and excited. Kinda like Watchmen.

I'd prefer to see Mr Reynolds focus on making Deadpool as awesome as possible but I have to admit (as someone who knows squat about Green Lantern) his turn as Hal Jordan has me intrigued.
