I don't think there;s much to believe in. We're taught cynicism so early, both told to be cynical and made cynical by the disappointments we're handed. We're never supposed to think we're too lucky because people are worse off, and people are better off. We don't know who the hell we are, and so we can't even figure out what we admire or who we want to be. People with established identity traits and ideals are heroic just because they seem to have a better grip on being human than we do.

Well, maybe. I don't know.
