Ooh, your Vecchio voice is so good, and this is so painful when he's talking about Benny cutting him out. "I didn't even really feel the blade until it was already through."
That just feels so real. And the tie in between the Victoria storyline, and the Ray and Rennie running the underground railroad, the fact that they have so few people they can trust.. it's just exhausting. You can feel how debilitated they are already, how much they need all the help they can get... and how little help they can rely on. Absolutely love the tie in with what's going on in England as well. Nobody listened to the Potter kid until it was too late... this has become an international disaster. And Ray creating illegal portkeys? Yes! He so would do whatever he could, at whatever risk to himself, to save the lives of others. He is SO good.

And have I said how much I love your Vecchio voice? How he takes the time even in the middle of this to ask after Benny (cracked as Benny's appearing) and how he takes the time to comfort his Ren. Really beautiful.

I figure by the end of this story, something happens that he starts leaning towards Benny actually being under a spell instead of just leaving them in the dust. But yeah, as of now, he's still thinking Ben sort of means to do what he's doing. Thanks so much! I love writing Ray Vecchio; even in original canon, after an abusive childhood and burn-out, his love shines when he feels it. I figure it'd be the same in this universe as that, but with more confidence.
