You know, this is exactly why I refuse to get on either Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr. I don't like being dumbed down by the internet.

Yeah, and I know its not all Tumblr and Facebook because I still use both but I just can't see myself being on there all the time. Especially if you are there for fandom related tumblr sites, it is pretty repetitive.

Nope I haven't, I got into tumblr because of NCIS LA and got out of it pretty quick. I still follow some tumblr accounts but not many like I used to. I was mainly looking at tumblr sites for TV shows and didn't really like what I saw.

I was just asking because I had just struggled with it for the first time, and replied

And the killmoffat hate blogs were the first thing I saw re. TV.

It can be tons of fun but I made the mistake of getting sucked into it once and ended up momentarily disliking one of my fandoms. Just the sheer repetitive squee was so mind-numbing it made me want to cry. It depends on the fandom though, but the crime show tumblr fan sites are just ditzy as hell.

Facebook is for my close friends, people who live far way like family and people that I used to know very well and kind of keep in touch. I agree it's hard to really form anything meaningful with facebook.

Yes, it's that I don't have the option to go into longer discussions that is so frustrating. I use Facebook for the same reasons and it's a great way to get a huge group of people together.
I follow some Twitter accounts for a few celebs I like as you do but I don't use it myself.
The format is shallow and attracts many who want exactly that, you always put things into perspective.:) It's the format and the crowd it can attract that frustrates me more than anything is what I should have really said.
