The chances the team knew seeing as Sam doesn't wear a ring or talk about his spouse? I doubt it.
As for the SGA ep, I remember that one clearly and I was just plain mad. The writers as usual dropped the ball with that one.
I would feel that way if Sam went home and was all lvoey dovey with the wife he never talks about or spends much time with but its clear his family life is off which would also explain why he doesn't talk about them.

In an early episode, Sam was in bed with someone, which we now assume was his wife. She'd not been mentioned or referred to. I have to wonder if the ptb remembered that he was married or not? There are so many times when he did things that you would never expect him to do if he was married. What that says about his relationship with is wife is just sad. I agree totally that G is far more important to him than his wife.
Before this last episode I had this whole thing in my head about how Sam and G were going off together for the weekends, and that when Hetty was sending Sam home to his family, that meant G. I mean, G bought Sam a car because Sam was all sad about his getting stollen!! That is not the act of a friend. That's the act of someone who loves you enough to know exactly what you want and how much it means to you and is willing to ( ... )

I am so scared for poor Deeks; the show really ripped my heart out this past week and I don't Deeks stamped on. Dammit, Sam and Ga are already a hot mess we need Deeks and Kensi to balance that all out.
