Note: before I saw pieces here and there and now I have seen entire episodes.
Umm this show is freakin' flawless and the leads are so warm, real and completely believable in their roles.
The cases are actually intelligent and give no easy solutions. And they make sense which is a bonus
No shipping crap because really American shows are just obsessed ( Read more... )

Oh, yay! So glad you enjoyed the first couple of eps of Lewis! Aren't Hathaway and Lewis just lovely? I like that they're at bottom kind and compassionate people, and then they have all the other little things that make them who they are. And of course, I adore the two of them together. :)

I ended up deciding to drop Grimm until the first season finishes airing. I'm sure it'll get renewed, but it's so hard for me to get excited and into the show with the slow way it's dealing with the Grimm aspect of the main character. Also, I'm really not fond of Nick, either. The actor is such cardboard.

ETA: I looked up the British show you mentioned and ... Lawrence Fox is married to Billie Piper (aka Rose Tyler). Wild.

Wow, I had no idea that Lawrence and Billie were married, that is wild.

Yeah, Grimm needs to stop dragging their feet with the story and give some more depth to Nick, hopefully the actor can pull it off. I have way too many TV shows and I forgot that Game of Thrones is coming back so I'm waiting for Grimm's first season to end too.

Ah yes, I was just watching some Lewis the other day. Must have been the latest series - the ABC (The Australian one) does get around to airing them eventually. The plot left me a little 'wtf' but the filming was lovely and I really do like Lewis and Hathaway. It is nice to see that didn't rewrite Lewis' character utterly after the end of Morse and that he carries that struggle on from there, but I was suprised by how much I like Hathaway. Truly interesting dynamic. Made me want to go and watch some Morse as well.

I found the first ep horribly depressing but after that not so much.
My mom was really excited since she is a huge Morse fan and the dynamic is great and unique so I'm pretty happy that someone recommended this show.

Well, it was a horribly depressing time! I meant more though in the way that it is subtly worked in, to make him that lead figure but at the same time to not let him be someone else (Morse) that he isn't, yet still try. I suppose I have in someway grown up with Lewis as a character my whole life - from Morse through to now, so it is quite easy to see the different struggles transmuted through time.

:P
