The search for gainful employment

So, I have to get a job. I mean, I wanted one anyway, but we kind of agreed to buy this house which is just barely within our price range on a single income and that's only if we theoretically do not waste money on stupid stuff. This is not something we are capable of doing.

My college has a useful resume builder thing, which I used, and an adivsor who told me my resume was just fine, but that's where their helpfulness stops. I went about posting my stuff on various job searching websites and applied for at least twenty jobs. So far the only interest comes from people who want me to sell life insurance (which I would do only if we were going to otherwise starve) and a ton of overly enthusiastic offers that say I can earn 7k a week working at home! No education or experience required! Just send $9.95 for this orientation packet!

Riiiiiight.

Nobody wants me to do accounting. How do I get experience when everyone wants you to have experience? Now, realistically, I only started all the applying stuff yesterday, so there may still be some interest out there coming my way. But dude, even if they're interested, I'll have to do interviews. *wibbles*

Also, around here, even food service wants you to be bilingual. *pokes brain* Why do you not know other languages, you useless thing?

The real world is large and hideous at times. Wish me luck.
