So I've noticed a lot of fake lj-cutting on my flist lately. You know, when you write a post and put a link in it, but through the clever use of coding make the link look like a cut tag. I have to admit, this is something I've never quite understood. So I turn to you, O Wise Flist, to explain it to me. Also to click the happy buttons in my poll, because who doesn't like polls?
Poll Fake Cuts!
Done indulging my curiosity? No, you only think you're done.
Next, of course, we have the issue of fake cuts leading to no comments. I mean, let's say I see a story post with what looks like a cut tag at the bottom, except there are no comments on it. Either the cut is fake, or the story is not all that good. Since you want people to read your story, it seems like the fake cut would defeat the purpose. But does it?
Poll Comments!
Happy clicking! And remember, there are two polls, so hit the submit button both times. Also, I suspect I am secretly resentful of fake cuts because I have never learned how to do them. But hey, a little irrational bias never hurt anyone, right?
