Summary: It’s the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts and Hermione isn’t the only one who needs a break from the festivities.

A/N: Written for the Dramione Drabble-A-Thon at dramionedrabble. alexia_drake posted the prompts Forbidden Forest, bad influence, creatures, dangerous, bleeding, spell, sacred and paranoid. I used them all. :)
Hermione was glad to escape the festivities for the anniversary of Voldemort’s defeat. But she hadn’t gone far into the Forbidden Forrest before she heard footsteps. She slowly turned around, but it was almost sunset and the forest was dark.
“Lumos!” Hermione’s spell illuminated the forest and she immediately recognised Draco’s blond hair.
“You scared me,” she scolded. “What are you doing here?”
“The forest is dangerous. You shouldn’t go alone.”
“You’re paranoid,” Hermione replied, rolling her eyes.
“It’s not paranoia. There are many creatures in here who’d love to eat annoying witches like you,” He shot back, but Hermione noticed he had a tight grip on his wand.
“There’s nothing to fear in this forest as long as you know to respect its inhabitants and avoid their sacred places,” she lectured.
“I think being friends with that big oaf has been a bad influence for you. Next you’ll tell me that centaurs are really just poor, misunderstood ponies.”
“Of course not. But they won’t harm you unless you’re disrespectful.”
“They would happily shoot you with their arrows, trample over you and then leave you bleeding on the forest floor.”
“Then why are you here?” Hermione asked, getting annoyed. “Don’t tell me you’re here to protect me.”
“As I said, the forest and its creatures are dangerous.” Draco replied, shrugging. “But considering all those Ministry officials that have invaded Hogwarts for the anniversary, taking a stroll in the Forbidden Forrest is probably the safest bet.”
“Finally we agree on something.”
