You'd think having a week off from work I would have more time to spend on here doing the things I've neglected for so long.
I was going to write in my LJ everyday, I was going to finish reading all my books, I was going to finally buy a computer desk so I can set up my new computer, I was going to buy a new book shelf and move all my dvds/books/cds off the coffee table and stereo, I was finally going to get broadband (argh!), I was going to go shopping a buy some new tops and pants and a nice warm winter jacket, and I was going to watch some of my dvds - like the special edition Labyrinth one that I bought two years ago that I haven't even put on to see if it works (bloody useless I am), and I was hoping to see POTC 3. And do you know when I knew that things weren't going to go to plan?
Last Saturday morning when I woke up in pain and that was that - no going out to dinner that night, no shopping, no reading, no dvds. Time to create Plan B, which basically consisted of waking up each morning and checking out the weather forecast. And sure enough, it was too damn cold to do anything most days.
Today is Monday and tomorrow I go back to work, and this is the first chance in a week that I've had to get on the net, and I only finished reading the His Dark Materials trilogy last night (those books have been overdue for about a month! lol).
And I had so much I wanted to write about, so many reviews. A lot of tv shows ended in the last month - Supernatural, Stargate Atlantis, Prison Break, Heroes, Robin Hood, Life on Mars, 24, Amazing Race. And all these brilliant shows have come back - Doctor Who (yeah!), Alias and Top Gear. Hopefully I can get around to ranting and raving about these finales and newcomers soon, they have all been buzzing around in my head desperate to get out for weeks.
Even though I didn't get to see Pirates these holidays I did go and see Transformers. It was okay, the plot was maybe a little more complicated than it needed to be and it could have been shorter, but overall 3 out of 5. Well that's enough for now, my fingers have turned blue and I can't feel them anymore (it has always been unusually cold in the computer room). Young Dracula should be starting soon (I know it's a kids show but it's really funny), and Top Gear and Torchwood are on tonight, so the holidays will be ending on a happier note than the one they started on.
