LOL, I think, is the best way to describe The Simpsons movie. I have never been to a movie where the audience laughed all the way through, it was great. It felt like I was watching a really long Simpsons episode at home with a hundred other Simpsons fans. I thought it was a good idea that the writers made the movie as though it was one long episode, and didn't try to fit every single character in with their own little story, although I did miss Hans Moleman.
There were so many great scenes and one liners :
Ralph : "I like men now" lol
Bart's doodle!
Homer's Spider Pig song - I love that pig! And I think we decided that either Spider Pig a.k.a Harry Plopper was eaten by Santa's little helper or he was crushed in the sink hole.
Grand Theft Walrus!
Bart drunk : "There! I said it"
Maggie is one tough, angry, street-smart baby - wouldn't want to meet her in a dark alley if I were a monkey.
Marge and Homer are so sweet "Why do birds sudden-ly appear?"
And I love A. Brooks, he has a terrific voice. I loved him as Hank Scorpio and was so glad to see him in the movie.
Too many things to mention, it was just cool to see that they included all the little things that make up a typical Simpsons episode or that are part of the Simpsons history, like Homer and Marge's song, and seeing all the characters if not hearing from them - even Stampy!, and all the sights and sounds of Springfield. The writers know who is going to watch this movie, so they sprinkled the movie with Simpsons in-jokes. And jokes/homages to other movies and tv shows, like Titanic and Prison Break - "What do we do now?" "Now, we run" Lol, I completely missed that the first time round, my brother told me later.
It was just great, I've seen it twice already and I can't wait till it comes out on dvd, after which we'll probably have it memorised.
Now I'm off to find myself a picture of Spider Pig - "does whatever a Spider Pig does".
