Today is the 18th anniversary of Chernobyl.

I have no more to say.

i was just reading about that yesterday for class. that was the event that really brought freedom of speech to the soviet union as it was reported mainly by foriegn radio broadcasters (sweden broke the story) and the soviets were not properly informed of the situation. then gorbachev used it as a means to loosening the restrictions on the press.

Thank you very much -- I remember my mum tellking me about it now. She was pregnant with me at the time and all expecting mothers were warned off dairy products due to contamination, if I remember correctly. :/

I wrote a story about that once for Hum. class. It was about a technician or something similar who went to work one night and then got blowded up. Not a happy story.

Wow, and now I feel really old, because I was in high school when this happened. I remember it. It was big.
