My semester which started in August is not over until March. Grad school. No clean slate, new professors, new syllabi. Barely staying on top. A note in my mailbox: "your current standing is satisfactory. We look forward to a strong finish in the spring

I bet none of the addiction researchers here have ever seen Skid Row. Have they? Why do I feel so sure they haven't? How?

Sometimes I think that some of the people in the psychiatry department only care about mental illness so that they can get their NIH grants. Either that or they get so lost in the basic sciences that they forget why they're doing what they're doing. But that's a rant for another time.
