Since I'm at work right now and I can't write about Friday's events yet, I'll write a quick entry about the ring. :)

I know the engagement ring is just a material object and it won't be with me in eternity, but... I can't take my eyes off of it. A blog entry about the ring sounds superficial... but I really love this piece of jewelry!

that is so pretty, kel! did you tell him what kind of ring you wanted or did he figure it out on his own?

a bit of both. :) he knew that i wanted the highest possible quality of cut over carat size. and he knew i wanted a very simple setting that would show off the diamond (ideally a tiffany-style setting without the price!). he also researched a LOT and went to numerous retailers. i'm quite proud of him!

i think that's the ideal situation -- where you give the guy an idea of what you want, then he goes and does tons of research and comes up with a ring that you love. yay, A gets an A+! hehe.

I am totally with you on that. Siobhan's diamond has the best color and top notch clarity. Ive seen some other ladies' rings with bigger stones but you can definitely see the yellow tint and inclusions. Believe me, I did my research and now I am the expert among my compadres; I have helped 2 of my friends with rings as well.

it's beautiful...and it DOES look huge. : )

i miss my ring. my fingers have been swollen for the last couple of months of my pregnancy, so i haven't been able to wear it since. WAH! both my engagement and wedding band are on my bedside table and i just stare at them. every once in awhile, i'll try to put them on, only i end up crying b/c they only fit halfway. hehe.

i can't wait to hear your engagement story...and who this A person is!

the little one is doing great. moving lots and i can tell he's itching to get out too! i can't wait to meet him!
