I have some more cacti photos that I think you'd like. I'll pop them up somewhere for you to peer at. These were all taken at the Desert Botanical Garden.
Well, you know how vegetables come from a truck. Butterflies come from envelopes. Four to an envelope in fact. Refrigerated. It takes only a few moments for them to warm up and want to fly off.
Some were released in the butterfly exhibit which is a netted area with nectary plants. Some were sexed, stickered, and released outside to roam the internet.
Actually it's a not overly scientific project to see where they migrate to. Supposedly since these were California born butterflies, they're supposed to head that way. However of the two that were reported (out of uhm I think they've done 400 so far), one of 'em was off in Mexico. Perhaps it was the tequilla.
