Perhaps as a wedding gift a bunch of us could chip in to rent the Dillboy VFW for a night or something for this after party thingie.

i was thinking something much more casual -- like, show up at rudy's and grab a table with like 40 people and eat!

Yeah, but whoever is planning this thing will have to remember that you *can't* just have 40 people show up at Rudy's a try to sit down and eat. Ask Chris about planning the after show things for a mere 15 people!

There would have to be a private room or huge reservation made, so it would probably be easier to have it at a private home or a venue that we could use just for us.

I'm in the chorus of "totally understand if not invited". Unless of course there's a cute bridesmaid you think I should meet. ;)

I agree with everything that has been said here, especially the part about how you shouldn't stress about it.

A lot of people end up having to invite mostly family to their weddings and only get to have a handful of friends there. We've just been very lucky that recently we've known people who've gotten married and been able to invite most of their "extended friend family". This is by no means a given at most weddings!

Don't stress about it, just be honest and upfront and people will understand. When people get their feelings hurt over weddings it is usually because nobody says anything and people assume stuff. Clearly, that's not what you are doing here as you've warned everyone in advance. I think you have nothing to worry about!

Understood! And stop fretting! If anyone's feelings gets hurt, that is their problem, not yours. I can't stand people who make the bride feel bad about her special day!
